Provisional Administrator of Cameroon Airlines, CAMAIR, Paul Ngamo Hamani, in collaboration with the Minister of Economy and Finance, Polycarpe Abah Abah, have invited interested investors to declare their intentions to buy CAMAIR latest February 13, 2006.Government announced the procedure for the partial privatisation and partial liquidation of the Airlines on February 23, 2005.

Camair:Up for grabs
According to a report by Radio France Internationale, RFI, the Minister made the announcement in Yaounde on January 27.According to the report, the Cameroon government will create a joint venture with private investors in which the government will have a minority share.
The part of the CAMAIR to be put up for privatisation would be moved over to the new company(ies). As for the part to be liquidated, the Cameroon government would handle it entirely.
Although sources at CAMAIR headquarters in Douala confirmed the RFI report to The Post, government media seem to be tight-lipped about the issue, at the moment when an IMF delegation is in the country on privatisation.
Some observers think government is afraid to publicise the sale of CAMAIR following recent threats by some political parties in Douala like Jean Jacques Ekindi's Movement Progressiste, that they would organise public demonstrations against the privatisation of the airline.
Meanwhile, little is known to have improved at CAMAIR since the arrival of the Provisional Administrator almost a year ago. He has, however, maintained cordial relationship with the workers' representatives led by Rene Ekedi.
Ekedi had given Ngamo's predecessor, Thomas Dakayi Kamga, hard times with a series of strike actions over accrued unpaid salaries.
CAMAIR workers are still owed accrued salaries.

CAMEROON IS A MESS: THANKS TO THE OPPOSITION PARTIES THAT BIYA IS STILL THE PRESIDENT.
How come CAMAIR is on sale and the Cameroonian media is not commenting on this? Why is the CRTV and the Cameroon Tribune not having information about this? Why is the government silent about this? How come the sale of CAMAIR is said to have been advertised by RADIO FRANCE INTERNATIONAL? Does CAMAIR belong to France or to Cameroon? Or is Cameroon a French province?
How can you announce the privatisation of a company on the 27th of January 2006 and you intend to close the sale in February 13 2006? Apart from being a secret deal, that is to tel; the world that Cameroon is the property of certain individuals.
Please, again, the SDF should get up? This is all trash. Are you in parliamnet to get monthly dues or to defend the people?
You presence in parliament is not even justified because you (SDF)even called the election unfair and rigged. Why are you there if the election was rigged?
You should fight in and out of the parliament. Foreign embassies should not have it easy with you. You should be there everyday and Inoni should always have sleepless nights.
Don,t think Biya will change alone. He needs to be eating hot potatoes.

Buying CAMAIR is like buying a pig in a poke! What are CAMAIR DEBTS?
We call on the Minister to issue the prospectus with full DISCLOSURE of assets and liabilities. CAMAIR is no SONEL.
Infact, CAMIR's liabilities can easily exceed its assets, in which case the company is only worth a contractual $1.0.

MR. FONJUNG, la Republique du Cameroun is indeed a French colony; a French province will do better. This bordello called la Republqiue du Cameroun is a FRENCH COLONIAL PLANTATION WITH "MEILLEUR ELEVE" PAUL as the current negro overseer. France owns it; they owned Ahidjo; and when Ahidjo got too big for his britches, he was replaced by another puppet called Biya, whom they also own naturally. Through these two negroes, the French have had their way with the people of la Republique du Cameroun and the Southern Cameroons as "une colonie d'une colonie" as they like to say.
The opposition you seem to still have a belief in is now also owned by France. The days when they rightly targeted the owner of the colonial plantation by calling for the boycott of French goods and businesses is gone forever. Like the chief of the CPDM, the chief of the SDF is consolidating dictatorial powers and aligning his henchmen to unleash a reign of tyranny in his sub-plantation of a political party which serves as a alibi for a francafrique-type caricature of a democracy. He is playing his assigned role from Paris very well. He may become the "meilleur eleve" tomorrow. He owes his fabulous life style today by doing business with the owners of la Republique du Cameroun - France - whom he directed a boycott against yesterday. A boycott that ruined the business of many in the Southern Cameroons who will never forgive him.
The ONLY salvation of the people of LRC comes through the de-colonization of the Southern Cameroons. It is a job that will be done. Upon completion, it will be up to people of LRC to now face their real enemy and the nightmare of their existence: France and her puppet petainiste Yaounde junta.

Hey mr Ricardo your organisation sounds interesting but you sound a bit naive on the issue you intend to handle. The division of cameroon is not going to be good for anybody. But people are handling it very lightly and the virus is spreading faster than we are aware of it. so organisation to counter the spread of this virus are of absolute necesssity. You need to sell ur organisation better that u are doing now.

Mr Biya and some top Government officials are very selfish to the extend that they want to deprive even their children that they brought forward into this world. Why have you decided to sell everything in the country. How would your own children rule an empty Nation tomorrow when some of you are gone or are unable to do something again. Are you just doing that because of your selfish nature or you know the consequences of doing it. some of you think and are saying that after all, all my children are based in Europe,UK,USA etc, they will not suffer even if the country is bad tomorrow. If these countries decide not to accomodate any foreigners tomorrow, what will become of these children.they will only come back home and suffer like some of us the poors are doing now.As it is rumoured that USA is planning not to recognise any foreign child born in America to have an American Nationality. There are certain Corporations in the country which ought not to be sold. This is because the burden will weigh much on the poor who are the masses. For instance look at what is happening with AES SONEL.There has been a high increase in SONEL Bills more than expectation that the poor find it difficult to pay and there has been frequent cutting of lights that destroys peoples' apparatus. Is that what the Government wants or what is really happening. You pay high bills and do not even enjoy fully the services being offered to you. Most blames are on some of us the Cameroonians who refused to forsee the future of their own Nation. We have too many "black legs" amongst us, who because of a bottle of beer that is being shared to them during rally or party meetings, turned their brains upside down and they refused to reason as people who love their Nation. So my fellow brothers and sisters, don't focus on what you are eating today, but also think of what you shall eat tomorrow.

TO THE POST,
A vital tool for success in journalism is credibility, ... when you gain the confidence of the public, no credible information will escape your ears. If you take a look at all these childish and irresponsible comments on your online newspaper, you will agree with me that responsible credibility is far from getting your way. when you get a piece of news like this camair privatization issue, you dispatch experts that are capable of bringing words out of people even out of dumbs. When it comes to statistical information, you assemble your team of experts and analysts that will examine and tell us the meaning of those figures. If you take privatization, you should tell us what it means for a state property to be sold to private hands, who are those buying, what are the advantages and disadvantages to the people and the state, ... here you will have to be fair enough by doing all you can to give a fair chance to all the stakeholders concerned to elaborate on their respective stakes in the whole business. This is to enable the public to have an intelligent judgement of issues and not to start commenting on guess knowledge. In this way you tend to climb an easy ladder with help from insightful comments from the public. You will agree with me that irresponsible comments here sometimes have pushed you to write irresponsibly, in an attempt to give readers what you felt is what they wanted. Your captions are really good but the body is empty. I hope we will read the post with satisfaction as we do read other newspapers. Good luck.
