Indomitable Lions interim head coach, Jules Frederick Nyongha, called up novice, Stephen Mbia of French club, Rennes for and international friendly pitting Cameroon against Holland on May 27, in Rotterdam Holland.Nyongha, who was appointed interim coach by Sports and Physical Education Minister, Philippe Dieudonne Mbarga Mboa, after the resignation Portuguese born coach, Artur Jorge, called up 20 players void of seven players that took part in the last Cup of Nations in Egypt.
They are keeper, Pierre Ebede, defenders, Benoit Angbwa, Kalla Nkongo, Armeud Deumi, midfielders, Eric Djemba Djemba, Achille Emana and striker Pierre Boya of Partizan Belgrade.Nyongha's list is made up of two goalkeepers, seven forwards, seven midfielders and four defenders.
Nyongha has called back Eric Matoukou of Belgian club Racing Genk, Justice Wamfor and Perrier Doumbe of Rennes who both had a fantastic season with their clubs.Nyongha lost confidence in three defenders that were at the last Cup of Nations that is, Kalla, Angbwa and Deumi, who misplaced first team position in their various clubs.
Conspicuously absent in the list are names of local players whom soccer pundits had predicted were going to take part in the friendly.Nyongha also failed to call up international, Valentine Atem of Ghanaian club, Ashanti Goldfield who had declared in an interview his intention to don the Blackstars shirt if given the option so that he could play the World Cup in Germany.
But Ghana coach, Ratomir Djokuvic published his World Cup list on Friday without Valentine Atem featuring.
List Of Players Called Up
Goalkeepers: Souleymanou Hamidou (Denizlispor, Turkey), Carlos Kameni Idriss (Espagnyol de Barcelona, Spain)
Defenders: Rigobert Song Bahanag (Galatassaray, Turkey), Andre Bikey (Locomotif Moscow, Russia), Eric Matoukou (Racing Club de Genk, Belgium), Geremi Njitap Fotso Sorel (Chelsea, England) Jean Hugues Ateba Bilayi (PSG, France), Timothy Atouba Essama (Hambourg FC, Germany), Perrier Doumbe (Rennes, France)
Midfielders: Justice Wamfor (Racing Club de Genk, Belgium), Saidou Alioum (Galatassaray, Turkey), Salomon Olembe Olembe (Al Rayan, Qatar), Jean II Makoun (Lille, France), Stephen Mbia (Rennes, France), Daniel Ngom Kome (Murcia, Spain), Guy Feutchine (Paok Salonik Greece),
Forwards: Rodolphe Douala Mbella (Sporting Lisbonne, Portugal), Albert Meyong Ze (Beleneses FC, Portugal), Samuel Eto'o Fils (FC Barcelona, Spain), Achille Webo (Ossasuna FC, Spain).

Friendly indeed. The interim head coach, Nyongha is looking for a forum wherein he can grasp his own share of the football cake in Cameroon under the pretex of international friendly. Why the friendly? Do they realised the astronaumic sums of money that will be spent on such a friendly that has no backings.
The fact that Nyongha failed to call Wome in the squad is clearly indicative of government's direct influence in football issues which has forced Nyongha not to call up Wome for fear of being denied his own share of the football cake. What a shame!
I shall be grateful if the minister of youth and sports could divert these funds and put them into use for some productive purpose. We should not always pretend to use football to fulfill our diplomatic obligations for we will surely fail shortly.
A word to a wise is suffient.

This is real Fun. This shows that the soo called proponents of the Unitary state have nothing to offer us in this forum. Dr AA and co should tell me how many southern cameroonians are in the list above?
Maybe, no southern cameroonian can play good football.

Cameroon cannot afford the money to organise a friendly as big as this one.Infact the cameroon team will get a huge amount of money from the Dutch football association for accepting the invitation to play in Rotterdam

Hello Volks,
Did i hear someone talking about getting huge financial compensation from the friendly with Holland?. That must not sound strange to us because numerous financial flows had being in the past pouring in to FECAFOOT or Cameroon Ministry of Sports coffer from Sponsors like Puma, or through our participation in Fifa's tournaments.
The question we should asked is, what has being done with these remittance?. Our sport infrastructures is one of the worst in the continent, yet we expect excellent results & performance from our Players. While Equitorial Guinea is bidding with Gabon to co-host the CAF 2010, there are no indications our administrators have such
plans in the nearest possible future . What a shame. All there know is to steal state funds and stay corrupt. I believe our Nation needs a Marshall program to boast our sporting facilities. Ironically these has being the soletary binding force among our divergence communities.
God save Cameroon

Cameroon 0 - Holland 1
The match was a good one with Cameroon dominating with ball possession 65% against 35% for Holland for the rest part of the match.Cameroon Lions did have an excellent defense and a steady and cambative Kameni Carlos at the goal post who did a lot of saving for the Lions reducing the goal scored to just one.
What went wrong was the attack!! The attackers did little or nothing to score a goal.We realised an 'if-Eto'o-had-been-there' match which made the Netherlands' keeper to be on 'holidays' during the match.Webo was not in form,Ngom Kome was just good in the middle but not aiming at scoring.
That notwithstanding,Nyonga has a long way to go for starting with the wrong leg.His position as head coach should not be full of defeats as he has started now. This makes us to remember our Honorable ARtur Jorge who resigned for reasons beyond our imagination. We hope for the best in the management of this number 1 sports in Cameroon.

My Good cameroonian brothers most especially southern cameroonians, know that if plum fruit is rotten from the plum tree before reaching on the ground is already bad. Then what can we get from it.How can a suckcase of money dissappear from a plane? If we have a focus cameroon will one day change from football point of view and also the economy.I pray that God touch our so called excellency and his protocol.Football now na politics for cameroon.
