The name of Chantal Biya's mother, Rosette Marie Mboutchouang, has appeared at the head of the CPDM council list for Bangou, Upper Nkam Division, West Province, for the July 22 Municipal elections.
Ordinarily, the name officially published by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Decentralisation, did not immediately draw the attention of many observers outside the impoverished municipality.
But thanks to the French language daily, Mutations (No. 1925 of Thursday, June 14), for revealing that the woman to head the CPDM list in Bangou is in fact the mother-in-law of President Paul Biya.
The woman reportedly got married to one Bamileke man by name Ernest Mboutchouang, who hails from Bandekop village in Bangou Subdivision. Apparently, through the marriage, Mama Rosette officially became an indigene of Bangou municipality and she is hoping to become the Mayor of Bangou.
Meanwhile, the outgoing CPDM Mayor of Bangou, Dieudonné Mekedjue, has had to "happily" submit himself as a simple member of the list headed by Chantal Biya's mother. It is worth noting that there are only two lists that will run in Bangou - the CPDM and the SDF.
With Bangou council being amongst the poorest in the West Province, many Bangou indigenes are reported to be already rejoicing that the Subdivision will know some development this time since the mother-in-law of the Head of State might become the Mayor.

To know development, the head of state needs to send many of his mother In-Laws to become the Mayor of the different constituencies. Its a shame.

If the CPDM is the route to development i the Southern Cameroons, i would prefer underdevelopment, to be honest.

Its a very big shame in this country that the present goverment is trying by all means to familiarised the goverment. The goverment and all its property should belong to the state and its people and to a certain a family.
I just hope that Chantal Biyas mother should not touch fire, because this will be dangerious in her side.

Shame to biya and his cpdm. He wants to familiarized the government and those his stogges see nothing wrong in what biya is doing. The poor people of bangou have been deceived with the impression that development can only come through the mother in-law of biya. There is no doubt the the election will be regged in favour of the cpdm. I'm so ashame of cameroon.

Hi all, please let's not betray our analytical abilities by bieng quick to criticise. Learn more about her, know who she is really, what she's done in the past before criticising my fellow brothers and sisters. Is it she fault to be Biya's mother in law?.Moreso has she not the right as a Cameroonian to stand for elections?. Please let this forum show some sense of objectivism.

This woman will certainly read another speech not too different from what we hear of the lord mayor's from Tiko. Camerroon!!!!!!!!!!!! Truely nothing is impossible in Cameroon. "Backwards ever, forward never" is their motto.

For the first time ladies and gentlemen i here CRTV is going round the town of Bamenda interviewing people on the Southern Cameroons case. Pray they show it over the media.
But my question is why at this time?. Does it have something to do with the African court issues? Brothers and sisters of good will there is something more to it than this. Something has the toed out of it's hiding place. Lets Pray.

MK the Southener,
Dont be fooled. CRTV can only invent negative news from the interviews. Nothing good can ever come from any of their ilk working for the colonialist.
