Democracy and politicking has crumbled in Cameroon and as such the country is loose with every body doing what he or she likes at any time.
With the present dispensation no change is expected within the next twenty years.
The worst illness ruining the Cameroon is corruption, embezzlement and
misappropriation of both public and private funds and not aids or
malaria.
Former UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan, once said, 'corruption, embezzlement, and misappropriation undermines democracy and the rule of law, leads to violation of human rights, distorts market, erodes the quality of life, allows terrorism and organized crime, and a threat to human security'.
The above cited vices, hurts the poor disproportionately by diverting funds intended for development, thereby undermining a government ability to provide basic services to its citizens, injustice and inequality and above all discourage foreign investment and aid.
Though Cameroon Penal Code provides punishment and sanctions for those found guilty for the above-cited offences and has also ratified the UN convention against Corruption in December 14, 2005 but the application is far below expectation.
Civil Servants, State officials, Ministers, Managers of State Corporations, Custom Officials, Mayors, Judges, Tax officials, Directors, Diplomats, Delegates, Principals, etc have all stolen our funds. Some maintain known high value foreign accounts yet they are found parading the streets wearing CPDM outfits as a hide out.
A Progressive Dictator, a man with no friends, who has the feeling and love of this beautiful country at heart, who has not been part of the rubbish mentioned above, a messiah of the youths, is needed to cleanse Cameroon and push it forward. The youths' future in Cameroon will continue to remain bleak and dark if nothing is done.
A Progressive Dictator who will be bold enough to suspend the Constitution, dissolve the CPDM dominated Parliament and rule by decree. Those who cannot justify their earnings and ownership of real property be tried and sent to prison. Those with unjustifiable high value foreign bank accounts be executed or disgraced publicly and all their assets converted into State property.
When order and discipline must have been instilled, then human rights, democracy and the rule of law can now function properly. If the central organ is completely worn-out, then, nothing good is expected of the ancillary organs.
The youths should wake up and stand for their rights. How can the Youths be leaders of tomorrow, when the old men are not ready to retire? It is only a Progressive Dictator that can bail Cameroon out from the current mess within a short period.
Whether elections are free or not, we have seen some opposition managed councils been accused of corruption, embezzlement and misappropriation. Therefore the problem rests in the mentality and not in free and fair elections. CPDM or SDF will not lead us to nay where except God provides us with a Progressive Dictator.
