West Provincial capital, Bafoussam, Ominisport complex whose construction work started and was abandoned decades ago will be completed in the near future, declared Augustine Edjoa, Minister of Sports and Physical Education.
Opening of FENASSCO games
The Minister made the declaration during a press briefing in prelude to the launching of the finals of the National School Games, FENASSCO "A" games in Bafoussam.Edjoa further stated that the 10 provincial headquarters will each have stadiums of international dimensions according to the contracts that have been signed with the government and Chinese authority.
At the launching ceremony of 10th edition of the finals of FENASSCO games, the Minister of Secondary Education, Louis Bapes Bapes, said sports among students is a great factor of national unity and integration, but warned against indiscipline and mercenaries. Bapes Bapes encouraged fair-play and impartiality.
In the football encounter that followed after the launching, Littoral Province walloped the West Province 3-0.The FENASSCO A games were also used by the West Province as a medium to show-case the culture of the province.
Besides Louis Bapes Bapes and Augustine Edjoa, Ardoum Ganoua, Minister of Youth Affairs, Tchatat Colbert, Jean Bernard Sindeu, Zacharie Perevet and Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi were led by the vice Prime Minister in charge of Agriculture, Jean Kuete.
Hama Adama, who will be organising FENASSCO "B" games in Ebolowa in a fortnight, was also present.
