The outgoing Commanders of the Limbe Naval Base, Roger Temche, and that of the Limbe Gendarmerie Company, Benjamin Mbamba, sacked from their respective posts handed over, November 8.
Master Mariner, Martin Forbinson Che, took over as the new Commander of the Naval Base at Man 'O War Bay, while Prosper Leyi became the new boss of the Gendarmerie Company for Fako.
The Secretary of State in-charge of the National Gendarmerie, Jean Baptiste Bokam, presided at the occasion, which took place at the Manga Williams Avenue, Limbe.
After their installations, the Secretary of State held a closed door meeting with the Generals who accompanied him to Limbe, the incoming and outgoing commanders as well as other top military and security officials.
During meeting, The Post learnt that the new commanders were called upon to ensure security around Fako which has since September has become one of the most insecure parts of the country.
They were promised the necessary means to keep the coastal area safe from pirates.

For English-speaking readers, the rank of the new Commander of the Limbe Naval Base is Captain (in the navy), which is different from a captain in the army. The equivalent of a navy captain is a colonel in the army.

The area has been made insecured by our very security personnel for all the operations have been masterminded by the security officers. An operation took place in Limbe for over two hours and no one (gendarme, army, police) showed up but could be found just immediately after the operation. It should not be surprising that those who came immediately after were the very people who carried out the act.
