The Chargé d'Affaires at the Tunisian Embassy in Yaounde, Riadh Essid, has announced 15 scholarship opportunities in Tunisia for Cameroonian students.He made the announcement at a press briefing in Yaounde, recently.
The briefing was part of activities to celebrate 21 years of rule of the Tunisian President, Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, commemorated every November 7. The scholarship is part of the fruitful relationship between the two countries and his country's contribution in promoting the education of Cameroonians, he said.
According to him, some 600 Cameroonians are currently studying in Tunisian universities in the fields of medicine, tourism, and agriculture.Besides education, he said the two countries are also cooperating in the domains of health, urban development and housing, sports, professional training and employment, industries and mines, basic education, etc. He also noted that many Cameroonians are staying and working in Tunisia.
Essid added that business men and women of both countries are also working to improve business links between the two nations. He announced the third edition of the business forum of economic operators of Tunisia and Cameroon for Yaounde in early 2009.
On why President Ben Ali is staying in office for too long, he said it is as a result of his achievements.
