EDEN Goes Sunday
By Walter Wilson Nana
The English language tabloid, EDEN, has just launched its Sunday edition of the paper. “The Sunday Eden” hit the newsstands Sunday, October 14. Unlike the black and red colours that the regular Monday and Wednesday editions carry, “The Sunday Eden” is blue and black.
As a Sunday paper, the maiden edition prioritised Sunday activities. The edition carried a screaming headline; “CMF, CWF, CYF And The Pentecostal Challenge” accompanied by a picture of Christian Men’s Fellowship, CMF, on the cover page.
“The Sunday Eden” also took interest in “150 Years Of Alfred Saker’s Church”. It also carried the story of “Pope Honours Tiko With Papal Blessing”, where it singles out two down-to-earth Tiko-based Christians, who have been specially recognised by Pope Benedict XVI.
Also, Cardinal Tumi of the Archdiocese of Douala, Rev. Ni-Nku, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, and Rev. Ndichafa of the Cameroon Baptist Convention, CBC, are said to be fostering the fight against HIV/AIDS in God’s way in an article titled; “AIDS, Birth Control And The Church”.
A laity and President of the CMF East Mungo South Presbytery of the PCC, Barrister Ntumfor Nico Halle, had this opinion of the CMF; “I am impressed with the growing spirituality in CMF”.The health services of the church did have a place in “The Sunday Eden”, with CBC Health Units said to have saved many lives.
