UB students mourn at 'Bethlehem'
The students assembled at the eastern flank of the university street, at a place christened "Bethlehem", where they read eulogies, mourned and sang locally composed dirges. From "Bethlehem", they trekked across the University Street, known as "Street 127", named after the list of 127 candidates of the controversial medical entrance examination, to a spot dubbed "Jerusalem".
At "Jerusalem," the students laid an epitaph, which according to them, was to immortalise the now yearly event. The event ended with launch at the school Restaurant, which was sponsored by the student union.
Some ex-students and former executive members of UBSU in the likes of Elvis Sakeh, Williams Nguve, Martin Besong and many others, attended the commemoration ceremony.
