Biya is President of Cameroon since 1982 yet nothing has changed in his country. He has earned the nickname 'Roi Faineant' [Lazy King].The last time he attended a ministerial meeting was in 2009. He rules the country high-handedly having made a fool of opposition party leaders.Biya spends his time either in his home village or in a hotel in Geneva. That's why he rarely meets with his ministers. The reason he has continuously been re-elected since 1982 is because he protects French businesses in his country:ORANGE, TOTAL, HACHETTE, BOLORAIS, CASTELL. Cameroonians are supposed to live in affluence but Biya has run their economy aground. It's funny that this man spends all his time gallivanting in the most beautiful cities on the globe yet his own country leaves much to be deserved: no infrastructure, no potable water, poorly furnished hospitals,refuse-infested beaches, etc. It is self-evident that this man is completely out of touch with his own people.

"King Do-Nothing"? Paul Biya will probably laugh this off and let it blow away like every other bad weather on his watch. The French journalists are doing just what they have done all along, from the time Moliere created the character "Tartuffe" to parody society's foibles and make for improvement. But in Cameroon...well...one or two Pius Njawes may be thrown in jail but by and large the overwhelming mass of praise singers and motions of support wordsmiths will go into overdrive and sanitize the prince back into utility for our aptly designated "Banana Republic". Life goes on.
