We will keep talking for the next 100 years and nothing will change. While we are talking and I am still alive permit me to continue giving my opinion.
The UN and all the institutions of the world are quite familiar with the plight of SC and in some cases have stood by while injustices are perpetrated against its peoples. What makes you think that taking your case to these institutions will somehow energize them to take action? What interests do they have to change the status quo? NONE. ZIP. NADA.
We all know the saying "Heaven helps those who help themselves?" Well folks it is our livelihood and future at stake here -- it is for us to take charge and not wait for any one.
For those who keep up talking DEMOCRACY. This is nonsense. Time and time when the government is presured it blurts out some promise to apeace and does nothing but use the time to strengthen its military and police forces. The picture of a swat team bursting into a dorm room at UB captured it all - neatly pressed uniforms, new boots -- you would think the picture was taken in a Western Country. If that same photographer had turned their lens to the streets and latrines it would be a different picture.
When will you learn?
Anyone afraid of distruction? Tell me distruction of what? There are no meaningful infrastructures. Cities stink from uncollected garbage, potholes on streets the size of craters, gutters overflowing with sewer, I can go on and on.
Not everyone is able to send money to thier family to counteract the porverty that exists and is getting worse. There are pockets of prosperty, but those are the exception. So if you wish to protect your investment in Cameroon by calling for continued dialogue, you are in the minority!

Louis Mbua

Mr. Riccado,

You cannot assume on people you know little about as per your disjointed writings. You either know SC; and that they are right to challenge evil in the land of their fathers -- making you a hypocrite and a bigot OR you are totally ignorant of Scians thus falling in the category of arrogance in ignorance.

You wrote:

"If you want to fight a battle or incite to political violence, please rmember remember that no one in our Country is going to fight for you.

1) Leave America (or where you are now) and go back to Cameroon to fight your war.
You will be faced with the full power of the Cameroon National Defense Forces.
2) You will be amazed to see that your own brother or sister will turn you in to the Authorities."

While we believe that a peaceful solution to this impasse is reached, it is extreme foolishness to believe that SCians will turn and start killing/report themselves after 44 years of bondage. I will like to draw your attention to the fact that this will never happen; and that you are living in Cloud-Cuckoo-land. The time is coming when our people will take it no more and hit back in self-defence to reclaim their natural rights from the impostor.

On another note, we have the birth right to come into this Union and a birth right to leave if we are abused or stay if we are happy. This right was not issued from Yaounde or Douala or any where on earth or from a man. It is a natural right from God. LRC also have the same rights which President Paul Biya exercised in 1984 by restoring The Republic of Cameroon.

The best solution is a UN Supervised referendum. I can categorically say that, if it were possible, the SCian dead will rise and vote with the living. That is the gravity of the feeling.

One more thing: Yang Philemon and Dr. Ngute will vote to throw out LRC on account of its record and evil.

Hello Everybody,

It is getting real hard.

Why do we keep so entrench postion. Be flexible.

Why do proponent of Secession and Civile War insist on it or nothing else.

We can not have compromise and consensus in this situation.

We can not discuss meaningful solution in this situation. We are too hard and not yielding.

I know the hard will of Anglophone. I believe they are preparing war already. Some Francophone may not believe, but I am. I believe majority Anglophone will fight war in Mamfe, Kumba, Bamenda, Kumbo, Nkambe. Even Limbe and Buea is bad with war monger.

This is not good sign for our country.

We need to stop it.

We are not help with hard position.

It is real hard to discuss like this.

Please let us try to find compromise.

Thank you.

Hello Again,

Before you ask.

I take this personal.

Some who chant here can come from Ngoundal or Batouri or Mundemba.

I come from border area. If war start, my people die.

I will not allow war.

We have to get compromise and consensus.

Thanks you.

Brother Nan,

The main problem here is most of these people who are calling for war and destruction have never lived in a war zone. They left Cameroon many years ago, and they are out of touch with realities in Cameroon.
Let them taste the consequnces of war and they will be begging for someone to stop it... It is so nice to live in prosperity with full stomach, modern environment, peace and tranquility and shout loud WAAAAAR!
Let me tell you people, I hav been there, I do not have to tell you how and when because this is my private life....
It does not matter...
People, war is something you will never want to use to solve your problems unless is the last resort.
For now, the situation in Cameroon does not call for that last resort. You can still join the Political Process and fight democratically.
People, be careful on what you pray for... It is bigger than what you think ...Calling to hate citizens of a Country and calling for WAR...
Take a deep breath and think.
Will democracy not help you and me?
Will peaceful change not help you and me?
Will dialogue not help you and me?
How do you want your village back home to look like?
Think about your old Pa' and Ma', your people left home...
Is war really going to bring good thinks in their lives?
Do not play with fire!
Be careful, you have a very disciplined and organized Military Forces in Cameroon that has the know how, the will and the moral to crush any Hate Group...

May God gives anyone here wisdom to speak with wisdom and love,

Riccardo

Dr A A Agbormbai

I think this debate on LRC/SC has run its course. It is getting me dazed, going round and round in circles. We now understand better the full dimensions of the problem, without ever reaching an acceptable solution. However, as pragmatists, we must follow what is there and try to better it rather than keep hoping for what is not there.

Andre Fokam

Thank you Dr. Agbormbai.
it appears that realism is becoming a rare commodity among some people. instead of looking at things as they are and try to make them better, they keep on dreaming of what is not and will never be, they keep on buiding castles on clouds. no matters how disgruntled we are about the situation, we must remain positive and work harder for improvement. Martin Luther King never ask his people to divide, neither did Mandela.
Cameroon was ONE, then TWO, then now ONE again. so what? why keep on looking at the past instead of building the future. that is for me the most reasonable thing to do because it is the only thing that will have a positive impact on us and future generations. Cameroon is UNITED and most cameroonian want it that way.
some people go as far as advocating war because they think of war as something they will seat in their comfort and watch on CNN,with their only eventual participation being to occasionally send 20 dollars to some fools will be fighting for them. LIES LIES LIES. if you want war, buy your gun and go yourself to fight. We cameroonian cannot be fooled.
we embraced peace a long time ago and we will solve our problem that way and progressively.

Andre Fokam

Paul Matoko

Andre writes ..."Cameroon was ONE, then TWO, then now ONE again. so what?"

The world was ONE, then 100+ countries then ONE again. So what? As stated above, most Francophones naively celebrate an illegality. This is nothing to be proud about.

The point is the illegal annexation and attempted assimilation of SC by LRC is inadmissible because Southern Cameroons nationals are resisting it and have initiated legal instruments to bring relief to the disaster. The resistance will grow with time as has been the case since 1984.

There is no easy way out for any lawless state in the post cold war World. As others have said, letting LRC achieve expansionism is emboldening a tiger. We await the verdict from Banjul and the struggle for deannexation is yet to start.

Again your country has no maritime boundary with Nigeria.

THE GOOD WAR AND THE BAD WAR
--------------------------------------------

THERE IS A GOOD WAR, AND THERE IS A BAD WAR, PEOPLE FORM FAMILIES, AND FAMILIES FORM NATIONS, AND THROUGHOUT
THE HISTORY OF MANKIND, WAR HAS EVER BEEN
A TOOL USE TO EITHER GIVE A NATION

A REASON TO BE, OR A TOOL USED TO SETTLE DIFFERENCE,, SOMETIMES USED JUST
TO ENLARGE EMPIRES.IN THE PROCESS PITTING, ARMIES OF THE INVADERS AND THE
DEFENDERS IN WAR. THE GOOD WAR IS THE
WAR FOUGHT ONLY TO DEFEND A NATIONS LAND
FROM INVADERS AS THE RUSSIAN FOUGHT THE

ENGAGE IN ILLEGALE INVASSION AND OCCUPATION OF ANOTHER NATION, IN VIOLATION
OF ESTABLISHED LAWS, THE INVADERS , NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY TO THEMSELVES ARE FIGHTING A BAD, JUST AS HITLER FOUGHT A
BAD WAR ,IN THE SECOND WORLD WAR, THE
BATTLE OF ST PETERS BURG, SAW 16 MILLION
DEAD. MORE THAN THE WHOLE POPULATION OF THE TWO CAMEROUNS. IN FRANCE, 6 MILLION.
IN POLAND 3 MILLION, IN ENGLAND 2M
IN GERMANY. 5M.ADDED ALTOGETHER MORE THAN
32M DIED, WHY DID THESE PEOPLE DIED?
WHY WHERE THEY FIGHTING?
THEY DIED FIGHTING FOR THEIR BELIEFS, SOME DIED FIGHTING TO DEFEND THEIR MOTHERLANDS. FROM THE NAZI ARMY BUT WHY WAS THE NAZI ARMY INVADING IN THE FIRST PLACE? BECAUSE OF AN( IDEOLOGY,)
AN IDEOLOGY, AS THE( FRANCOPHONIE) THAT OF

NOT ABIDING TO ESTABLISHED LAWS. THE SAME
HOLDS TRUE TO THE 21 CENTURY (FRENCH AFRICAN IDEOLOGY) NO OTHER LAND ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH HOLD ANY FRENCH ARMY
BASES,SPEAK FRENCH LANGUAGE AND CULTURE,
SUPPORTS FRANCES GDP. THAN BLACK AFRICA.
AND THE ONLY WAY TO KEEP HER IN THE SAME
LEVEL WITH THE INDUSTRIALISE WORLD, SHE STILL WANTS AFRICANS TO WORSHIP AND SEE

WHICH IT IS CLEARLY ARMING AND PLANNING A GENOCIDE CAMPAIN AGAINST THESE 6MILLION

IDEOLOGY OF SUPREMACY, SAME AS HITLER ONLY THIS TIME NOT TO TAKE LAND DIRECTLT BUT INDIRECTLLY.THE FACT IS WITHOUT ITS NUCLEAR ARSENAL FRANCE ITSELF WILL BE A

EVEN WITH COUNTRIES AS INDIA OR BRAZIL.
GLORY TO AFRICANS, WHO IGNORANT AS WE ARE.
ALLOW THEM TO USE US TO GET WHAT THEY WANT, SOO THE WAR BETWEEN LRC/SC IS
THAT OF GOOD WAR FOR SC , AND BAD WAR FOR LRC.

Andre,

A bon Entendeur salut!

Fred,

I completely agree with you. A corrupt government is no good for all of us Cameroonians.
We all agree that our Anglophone side of the Country has been the most affected.
Calling for division and hate by a certain Group of people is a very bad idea in my opinion. It will never solve our problems but will create chaos and bloodshed in our Country.
We Progressive Cameroonians are not defending our Bad Government but we are asking all Sons and Daughters of Cameroon to join Forces in peacefully changing Cameroon into a Modern Democracy.

HATE AND DIVISION WILL DESTROY OUR COUNTRY.

Let's focus on a peaceful solution than calling Some people to hate others.
Don't you think so?

Long Live a Democratic and Peaceful Cameroon.

It is time for you to STAP (ShuT up Already, Punk). Your comments are repetitive and amounting to SPAM at this time. Are you trying to force feed people with tripe? Where were you when la Republique was trying to annex us? Hop back into the pond and spare us the repetitive croaking for the weekend.

Jean Pierre A

Riccardo.

Now you are being sensible here. At least unlike mr Riccardo you are acknowledging that many wrongs were committed. If francophones truly honestly want Cameroon to move forward they have to go back to the past, reconcile and try to write the many wrongs committed. Nobody wants to fight a war because everybody loses. The only way to resolve this problem as you rightly pointed out is by a referendum for anglophone Cameroonians only with 3 options
1)Unitary Stare
2)2 state Federal State ie 1961-1972 or
3)A separate state or nation for West Cameroon
This problem is not going away and will never go away until things are resolved this way.

Jean Pierre A

Those who advocate armed struggle have nothing to lose. It is the last resort. It beats going day to day and seing everthing they have built deteriorate before their eyes and bieng helpless to do anything about it for thier sake or for the future of your kids. They can go quickly now or slowly die in the suffocating grip of one of the most currupt enviroments in the world, with vivid knowledge that they have been denied the right to a decent life.
Those who advocate a continued failed solution must have something to gain. The mere mention of a struggle evokes loss of privileges and fear that they and their colaborators will be made to pay for their past evils. They clamour to convince the world that progress is being made. Periodically they make these improvement propagandas to to keep prying minds at bay while they continue with their devious plans. Nothing changes.
Whether you live in Cameroon or abraod, as long as you are of that origin no one can question the intensity of your sentiments for the country no matter your position. The question becomes wheher your position is misguided based on the facts of the case at hand. Whether you are taking a position for selfish reasons or for the good of all.
Some one has called proponents force dreamers. Why? Because the advocates of change are usually in the minority and often dismissed as crackpots while those in power have always been confident they cannot be defeated. It is amazng how people never learn from history.
