Update: How 911 Operator's Quick Thinking Helped Catch I-185 Shooter

WTVM Channel 9: Traffic flows swiftly past what's left of last night's shooting. These orange circles are just reminders of where thirty three year old Oscar Agbor was shot. Agbor was hit four times and died en route to the medical center.

"A burgundy toyota pulled up along side, several shots were fired for this Toyota into Mr. Agbor's vehicle."said Lt. Steve Cox, Columbus Police. Edmund Eno is charged with Agbor's murder. According to police, Eno saw Agbor and Eno's wife, Rachel, leaving a local motel.

Police say Eno followed them and shot into the car. Several drivers witnessed the shooting and called in a description of the Eno's car. But it was a 9-1-1 operator that recognized the description of the car from a earlier call.

According to police, Eno approached a soldier here on Victory Drive. He asked the soldier to help him load a 45 caliber gun he had just bought. He refused and immediatly called 911.

"Luckily, he did. He also obtained a tag number to the vehicle and the 911 employee going through her call sheets recognized the similarity in the two vehicles even though one event happed six hours earlier." said Lt. Cox.

Residents feel this is just a random shooting. But they say this is something that happens in bigger cities, not Columbus.

"I think it was an isolated incident so I don't think there's anything to be afraid of." said Theresa McBride, Columbus resident.

"Big time crime will come in the city. They don't need that in the city because I go to Detroit, back and forth, they got that all the time"said Wenzial Jarrell, Columbus Resident.

Columbus Police plan to return to this scene sometime tomorrow to finish the investigation. Oscar Agbor's death is the twenty first homicide in Columbus this year compared to twenty five last year. But Lieutenant Steve Cox says all 21 have been solved, plus four homicides from 2004.

Judge and jury will be sympathetic to Eno because he saw his wife Rachel Eno leaving a motel (sex parlour) with Agbor. At that point, Eno's perception of Agbor would have diminished to the level of a beast.

Rachel made a fatal appointment with lover Agbor, were caught red handed and punished fatally. Someone has to pay the price for sins. However, Eno will do some time in jail.

This is a warning to all single men with roving eyes. The best appointment is with a wedding ring and your own wife. Stay away from other men's wives. Once in America, keep those bad habits away or you might get a bullet through your chest.

No Judge will show sympathy towards him. The facts of the case show that he has committed first degree murder with a deadly weapon. And since the crime took place on a public highway, the prosecutor might be adding the charge of reckless driving and endangerment of other motorists.

He cannot use the 'heat of passion defense' because it now stands that he had enough time to plan his crime. He bought a gun, he sought help on how to use the gun and he followed his wife and probably waited outside the motel until his wife and manfriend were done with whatever activity they were engaged in.

Sorry Mr. Eno, sooner or later Rachel will become someoneelse's girlfirend. As for you, you might become someone's girlfriend in jail.

A murder trial has seen a video of a man laughing as he told police how he beat and strangled an older woman who let him stay in her Etobicoke apartment as a favour to his mother.

"This is all like a bad movie," Arthur Balla-Mekongo chuckled near the end of a two-hour video interview with homicide detectives.

"Like it wasn't quick," he said. "She wouldn't die. That's when I realized I had to cut her circulation."

The tape was played for jurors yesterday and Thursday.

Balla-Mekongo, 30, has pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder but guilty to manslaughter in the Halloween 2003 killing of Theresa Efimba in her apartment near Martin Grove Rd. and Eglinton Ave. W.

After he killed her, he covered her body, watched TV and stayed in the apartment for almost two days before calling 911 because, he told police, he had no money and no place to stay.

"I can't say I felt guilty," he said.

"I feel like that was mission accomplished," he laughed.

Balla-Mekongo told Det-Sgt. Ken Taylor and Det. Mark Saunders that Efimba, known to friends as Mother Theresa, put him up because she knew his mother.

But after a while the 57-year-old woman "looked like an enemy," he told police, and he got such bad vibes from her that he felt he had to sleep with one eye open. "I'm probably a bit mentally unstable."

Frequently laughing but sometimes grave, the 6-foot-6 man detailed how he entered the 4-foot-11 woman's bedroom around midnight and attacked her as she lay in bed.

"I told her you will not understand why I am doing this right now," Balla-Mekongo said.

He punched her, strangled her with one hand, but she scratched and bit, he said. "At one point it was almost as if she was going to overpower me."

She landed on the floor and he hit her with a lamp then held her nose and mouth, he said. "It's not that easy," he said. "She's a tough old cookie. That's what surprised me."

He told police that he feared she might be a computer, a cyber virus or a witch. "Back home that's how we deal with witches," said the Canadian citizen originally from Cameroon. She didn't seem real, he said.

"So you think she's a computer and you just sort of shut the computer off?" asked Taylor. "In my mind, yes," he replied.

Dr. Michael Pollanen, a forensic pathologist, testified that Efimba died of "mechanical asphyxia." She had multiple injuries on the head, face, neck and upper back, he said.

Her nightdress was pulled tight and wedged in a fold of her neck, consistent with it being used in neck compression, Pollanen told Crown prosecutor Tom Schneider.

Yesterday the Crown finished calling evidence. The trial continues Monday.

It is unfortunate, the events that led to the homicide. From what I know so far, it appears that the assaillant had ample time to prevent the motel incident, if that was indeed the estranged wife's first encounter with the Oscar.
We can't control what other people do. But our emotions can be put in check by confronting the instigator in a civil manner.

Are you ready?
The unfortunate incident involving Mr Agbor, and Mr/Mrs Eno is one of the signs that we are living in lastdays. I feel I should re-emphasize this fact in this forum. Godlessness is not only the norm in lastdays but has been institutionalised. For instance, different forms of immorality have been institutionalised in one way or another in some countries around the world (America inclusive). Also, some forms of murder such as abortion have been institutionalised. Thus, Godlessness has the “blessings” of many Governments around the world in these lastdays.
The question that many often ask is “What are the signs of the last days”? Dr Ed Hindson (a Bible prophecy professor) states that it is the fact that so much of the world situation resembles that which is predicted in the Bible when the prophetic scenario of the Last Days is played out. Consider the following:
1. The Rebirth of Israel. After Rome destroyed Jerusalem in AD 70 and subsequently scattered its inhabitants, Israel was without a homeland for almost 1900 years. Then in 1948, Israel regained national status and resettled her homeland. In 1967, the Old City of Jerusalem was regained as a result of the Six-Day War. This physical regathering of Israel is a fulfillment of many prophecies of the Old Testament, especially that of the "Dry Bones" in Ezekiel 37. It is a necessary prerequisite for the rest of prophecy to be fulfilled. For the Antichrist to make a covenant with Israel (Daniel 9:26-27) and to profane the newly rebuilt temple (2 Thessalonians 2:3-4), there must be a land of Israel in existence, and today there is.
2. The Emergence of Russia as a World Power. Before the Russian Revolution of 1917, Russia was a minor player in the affairs of the world. That is no longer the case. Although the Soviet Union is dead and Communism is no longer a way of life in Russia, that nation has retained its nuclear capability and is still a formidable military power. Many believe Russia’s military strength will provide the impetus for it to be the leader of the northern invasion of Israel prophesied in Ezekiel 38 and 39.
3. The Unification of Europe. Following the collapse of the Roman Empire, the European nations drifted apart and developed hostility against one another. In fact, throughout most of the history of the Western world, many of the world’s wars took place between nations of Europe. Now, those nations are seeking common ground as barriers fall. A common currency, the Euro, is now utilized by many European nations. The Bible predicts that when the last Jewish temple was destroyed, it would be done by the "people of the prince that shall come" (Daniel 9:26). Rome destroyed the temple. It follows, then, that the Antichrist who is to emerge during the Tribulation will come from a revived Roman Empire, and that most likely centers around a united Europe, the heart of the former Roman Empire.
4. The Development of a One-World Government. Most nations realize that isolationism is unworkable in our present world. Cooperation and alliances of a political, military, and economic nature are essential for the smooth operation of the world at large. The United Nations is playing an increasingly greater role in fostering such arrangements. Either it or a subsequent world body could be the catalyst for introducing to the world its new global leader, the Antichrist.
5. Apostasy in the Church. Many denominations are drifting away from the truth of Biblical Christianity and opening themselves to strange new doctrines, as prophesied in 1 Timothy 4:1. This leads to another characteristic of the Last Days, which is:
6. The Development of a One-World Church. If everybody is right and nobody is wrong, the call of the world then is to forget our differences and concentrate on that which unites us. "Ecumenism" is a word frequently heard today, and it is embraced as a good thing. One can easily foresee the development of a unified, one-world religion, which the Bible predicts will eventually be headed by the False Prophet, who will direct worship towards the Antichrist (Revelation 13:11-18).
7. Lawlessness and Moral Degeneracy. These are the natural by-products of the abandonment of the age-old value system of the Bible (2 Timothy 3:1-6). The unregenerate world has initially welcomed the opportunity for everyone to "do their own thing," but the resultant breakdown of society has already led to increasing crime, poverty, and disease. Ultimately, the problems this "freedom" has caused will grow so severe that the world will clamor for someone to save them. Satan will have his man, the Antichrist, waiting in the wings.
8. The Increase in Travel and Knowledge. Daniel 12:4 prophesies that at "the time of the end, many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased." Up until almost 200 years ago, land travel was limited to that which could be harnessed to an animal. Today, it is common for multiplied thousands each day to fly across the country and around the world. We have even gone to the moon and back. Likewise, a wealth of material on virtually every subject imaginable is available at the click of a mouse button through the Internet.
9. The Rise of Scoffers. Finally, in spite of all of the developments we have witnessed, some scoffers will still ask, "Where is the promise of his coming?" (2 Peter 3:3-4). They may not realize it, but in so doing, they themselves are helping to fulfill Bible Prophecy! We would remind them of Jesus' words:
"Therefore be ye also ready; for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh," Matthew 24:44.
May I also add the following signs:
10. Global ignorance. Not withstanding the aforementioned signs which are visible in the world we live in today, majority of the people are NOT aware that we are living in the last days. It is business as usual. Consider the following text: :He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times(Matthew 16:2-3)? Despite the fact that there were over 500 prophecies or predictions of the first coming of the Lord Jesus Christ in the old testament. The people of his day did realise that he was the one all the prophets predicted in the Old Testament. They did not discern the signs of the times. He was the sign but they did not know. In like manners all the above signs concerning his second coming as documented in the Holy Bible are here with us but unfortunately the world is blind and doesn’t recognise them. This lastdays generation is behaving exactly like that of Noah’s days as predicted in the Bible: But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be. For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark, And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be (Matthew 24: 37-39).
I will end here with WARNING to those who do not take the word of God seriously.” Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away (Matthew 24:35).” The rapture of the Church of Lord Jesus Christ in the prophetic future is a foregone conclusion (see 1 Corinthians 15:51-52, 1Thessalonians4:16-17, Revelation4:1, and Revelation 3:10). Those who are left behind will blame the raptured believers for not having warned them enough vis-à-vis the impending Global calamity (known as GREAT TRIBULATION –see Mathew 24:21) that awaits those who will be left behind. There will be 21 judgements on those left behind which are the 7 seals or the wrath of the Lamb (Revelation 6: 1-17), the 7 trumpets (Revelation 8:6-13, 9:1-21, 11:15-19) and the 7 Bows of God`s Wrath (Revelation 16: 1-20).
WARNING WARNING WARNING WARNING. If you miss the rapture, Please, DO NOT receive the MARK OF THE BEAST ie ANTI CHRIST (see Revelation 13:16-18). Here's what I would have done if I were Eno.

After the fight on Christmas Eve, I would take my wife home and have her pack up all of her worldly posessions. Then, first thing Christmas morning I would load my Toyota Tacoma up with all of her stuff and put her in the front seat. I would then drive to Agbor's nice little house in Atlanta and ring his door bell. When he answered I would present my wife and her stuff as a Christmas gift and wish them both well in life.

I'm willing to bet that before I could make the one hour and forty-five minute drive back to Columbus, Agbor would be calling, begging me to come back and get my wife. "Creepers never keep her"

I would then have my wife (if I chose to keep her), Agbor would have another love interest, and I certainly would not be facing captial murder charges in Georgia where the constitution begins with "the right to life."

Sometimes in life we have to let people and things go in order to truly win peace and happiness. Sometimes they come back to us.
