The XtraMile Continuity Services, XCS, is celebrating its first anniversary with the launching of the School Fee Solution through its XtraMile Subscription Services.
Created in February 2005, XtraMile is a modernised form of the traditional njangi.
Registered and headquartered in Limbe as a service company, XtraMile, through the XtraMile Subscription Services, XSS, "… designed an innovative capital creation strategy," states the anniversary edition of the XtraMile Newsletter.
Unlike in the traditional njangi, in which one or a few members "pick" after a long period, and until they have played again, the XtraMile peculiarity is that members continue to earn from their initial contribution.
The XCS describes itself as a new generation network company in the financial services sector, using subscription marketing. It is a pioneer local company subscribing people into a system with a small amount and then giving them the opportunity to receive even smaller amounts from so many people by blending the traditional nangi method and subscription marketing.
Talking to The Post about the first national sales conference organisd in Douala, during a trip in Buea to dish out prizes, bonuses and awards to winners of the XtraMile Xmas Competition and to launch the XtraMile Easter Competition, the Director, Cletus Nji Asah, stated that: "XtraMile Continuity Services has a vision to create a service that has no end."
He explained that the company believes in creating pace-setting opportunities for the growth and success of all, irrespective of sex, age, language, tribe or level of income - thus aims at business success.
The XtraMile Newsletter maintains that: "After carrying out an x-ray of our local economy, XCS realised that there were so many financial institutions that exist and are created everyday just to collect and save the little money in the economy.
XCS, through XSS, designed this innovative capital to fill this gap with a realistic capital creating institution, using our traditional njangi method of capital creation and subscription marketing, with the use of modern technology." Some members refer to it as "Electronic njangi"
XSS products are the XtraMile Extra Income Solution (Formula 339 Services) and the XtraMile School Fees Solution (Formula 321 Services). XtraMile operates all over the national territory either with individuals or clubs like the Ndu XtraMile Club, Ndu, Donga Mantung Division of the Northwest Province.
Nyanganji Job Ndi of Joseph Merrick Baptist College, JMBC Ndu, an XtraMile beneficiary writes about it; "I first heard about XtraMile from a friend in February 2005 … I enrolled early June 2005 … received my four certificates on the 7th of June and sold all of them by the end of the day to my wife, two of my staff and a lecturer. My first earning of FCFA 40,000 was received in September 2005 … and by the end of the year I earned FCFA 700,000 …"
Madam Adriana Ncheya testifies that: "When I started earning in XtraMile, I decided to be a Field Supervisor, because this is accompanied by monthly commissions depending on the number of sales made. XtraMile has changed the standard of living of my entire family. My children equally make earnings every week and their accounts in one of XtraMile's paying banks"
