Why I Pity Ben Muna (I)b

We’ve been true to ourselves on this forum. Silence when meaningful discussion is on the floor. We’ve all drifted to where petty quarrels are raging. And we say we are studying abroad, waiting to rebuild Cameroon when the bad seeds would have been done with. Rebuild my head.

Now to our subject: Think about your father; your late or living father. Don’t look around to the next person. I’m addressing myself to you reading this. YOU personally. Yes you. You know how great your father is/was. Or you know how he mean is/was. Now you understand because you know your father better than anyone else.

How many of the “wonderful” things you write on this forum or do elsewhere, or in the cover of darkness would you want your father to know and be proud of you for staking so much in life raising you and sponsoring you through school?

Your father must have done a few or many great acts. Maybe he has done a few or many mean things too. How many of those would you want to be used to judge your whole life? Yes, blood di follow na vein, we all may say, but are we all what we are just because of our father?

Let’s reflect on this and come to the issue next time. And please, this is a Talking Point worthy of big minds like us, not those petty quarrels.

Why I Pity Ben Muna (II)

You can’t have more pity for anyone than Ben Muna. He is his father’s son and is proud of it. He is the son of S.T. Muna whom many of us here love to hate. In fact, Muna-bashing is a fun sport for a lot of us here.

And the Muna legacy is a subject many don’t bother debating about. We believe the conclusion is not debatable. Good luck to those of us who would have done better in his circumstances.

When an Anglophone think-tank began holding risky meetings in the late 1980s that eventually led to the creation of the SDF, one of them was a most improbable Ben Muna. Improbable because about that time, S.T. was quitting the stage (he left parliament in 1988).

As you understand the way it goes in Cameroon and elsewhere, political baobabs produce political dynasties. Father (or relative) goes, son (or relative) steps in. Political sons are often given special privileges where their father reigned. Examples abound. But just a few here: the Hayatous, the Njoyas, the Mbeles (Belo Mbele, Yves Mbele Ndoue), the Endeleys, etc.

With S.T. quitting in the late 80s, all was about set for Ben Muna to quietly, and without stress, step into S.T.’s shoes. Ben, then 48, was ripe. In his own right, Ben had had a brilliant legal practice that began in West Cameroon as a state prosecutor (so he had a been a government man). He rose to be the Bar Council Chairman. And so now, the sky was the limit.

Added to that, daddy was quitting. So the family’s political mantle would fall on someone, most likely Ben, the one then showing an inclination towards politics. But foolish boy. He had his own plans. He went conspiring with a group of other bad boys to cause trouble, to torpedo the same boat his father helped steady in stormy waters. Biya has had to wait over 15 years for Ben’s small sister Ama Tutu, to mature and fill the family’s “vacancy” in government since December 2004.

Besides being one of those treading the risky path of creating a political party whose fate was uncertain, Ben later braved it, using his position as head of the Bar, to do about the most risky thing at the time: defend a group of people (the Yondo Black group that included Albert Mukong), facing trial for treason – for planning to form another political party.

Ben Muna went on to use his strong voice as Bar Chairman to make serious pronouncements that in no small way pushed the Biya government to the wall to cave in to multipartyism. He lost many, if not all, of his friends in high places and ran the Bar into crisis with pro-Biya lawyers raising hell.

So what might have been wrong with Ben Muna? Why would a political prince, born with a silver spoon in his mouth, whose time had come to just walk up to the stool vacated by his father, prefer to tread the path of uncertainty? Wasn’t he his father’s son?

I am really uphauled by what I am reading on this site, especially this article. I do think that there are many blind people in the SDF. If a blind leads a blind man, shall both not fall into a ditch??. Imagine that , funds that were suppose to have been given to the SDF to, finance it presidential election campaign , are been given now. What does this tell us, to those who have ears let them hear; Biya will never want the SDF hold political rallies, talkless of winning an election, reason why this funds were withheld. Biya and his band of thieves have millions in their accounts , was it impossible for them to give this money to the SDF ??? The answer is no.
I think we have come to the point where we have to stop all stupid and fruitless efforts and join the Southern Cameroon's quest for freedom. If the SDF cannot be given money to finance its electoral campaign, do we who are in our right minds think that they have a chance of winning elections in that country? I think we all know the answer. What is the purpose of having conventions when, at the end of the day you will never have the opportunity to share the message from the convention, because Biya is withholding campaign funds ?
It is time for all Southern Cameroonians to open their eyes and see these truths and stand up as one man to fight this evil that is plaging us.
Long live the Southern Cameroons and may God bless you all.

Why I Pity Ben Muna (III)

You need to have experienced being a victim of your success and good fortune to know how it feels to be scorned for being you.

We all have our different measures of success in our various stations in life. Maybe we are more brilliant than others. We pass exams, they fail. Maybe our father left wealth, so we have more than enough to live in affluence. Maybe our wife or husband loves us more than others' spouses love them. Or maybe just something.

Those who are lesser than us, (and in life there’ll always be greater and lesser persons than us), if they are not fair in their judgement, would scorn us for reasons they themselves won’t be able to explain.

Of course, some act in our life, justifiable or not, will provide them the excuse to bring out the longstanding ill-feeling they’ve nursed against us. And they’ll pin on that to seek to stigmatise and bedevil us all our lives.

We’ve seen here that for obvious hatred of Ben Muna, some of us on this forum, in search of a loophole in his brilliant career, have gone as far as saying he spent eight years to obtain a law degree from the University of Yaounde. Ben’s professors in London should be wondering which Ben Muna we were referring to.

Some have said the Muna kids got the high offices they’ve held only because of that Muna privilege. That they were spoon-fed to success. We forget that besides Ama, none of the Munas is in a high profile government position. When we find no case there, we say, Well, they could have had all the education they needed because their highly placed father could sponsor them. Granted. Well, no one has said with stolen money.

So where are the kids of Munas contemporaries? We know how successful/unsuccessful they have been: the Endeleys, the Juas, the Fonchas, the Kales, the Mbiles, the Achdi Achus. So why target the Munas?

We haven't also said their father bribed for them to pass exams or that from his grave goes to court with Ben and Akere and goes to the theatre with Dan and Walindjom hold the operation scissors for them,etc.

We just wish we were like them: two Bar chairmen (Ben and Akere), two high standing medical doctors, (Dan and Walindjom), an aeronautics engineer (pilot for short), an agronomic engineer, and the list can continue as you know only too well.

We also haven’t said if it took their fathers name for them to break grounds beyond our boundaries and earn international successes.

Before becoming deputy chief prosecutor at the UN court in Arusha, Ben had headed or held high office in various African and subregional Bar organizations. Akere, among his national and African honours, is presently world vice president for Transperency International.

That’s not all for the achievements of the Munas, but that will do for now. And that shouldn’t call for any jealousy, please. Wona hear?

When News items like this one come up, I have all reasons to continuously thank and praise our Almighty God. News items like this one gives me the confidence that the Good Lord is with us, and that he will always bring the truth to light. I may unfortunately, be using my own human way to bring out the truth to light, and some readers may also be using their own human reasoning to judge me.

No one expected the administration in Bamenda to refuse authorization for the holding of the SDF Bamenda convention. By refusing the holding of the covention, the administration would have been creating a situation in which its weakness would be made public. If the authorization was refused, no one doubts the fact that the Convention in Bamenda must hold. The Administration refused the launching of the SDF in Bamenda, but we launched it. The government is not ready to see this disgrace again in Bamenda. Instead, the government will do everything to see into it that the convention goes on smoothly.

I had stated in this forum that even if there are no funds for the Bamenda convention to hold, the CPDM government will supply them. It is no coincidence that the CPDM government is giving out CFA 150 million francs but now, only a week to the holding of the Bamenda convention. Since 2004 presidential elections, is it not paradoxical for the money to be coming in only now?

Hear what Mbah Ndam says:

"He said he was optimistic that this Friday the money would be the in SDF account.
"What I can tell you now is that the money is in the process of being paid," said Mbah Ndam.

He said the money was supposed to have been given to the SDF for the 2004 presidential elections.It is believed it will greatly boost the upcoming convention."


I have informed this forum of the fact that the SDF had to be used to clean the CPDM government's image before Cameroon passes the examination to become one of the poorest countries in the world. When I stated that the Biya government needed the assistance of the SDF hierarchy in order to pass this examination, some readers, unfortunately, wanted to crucify me. When I stated that the CPDM government would do everything to make the SDF strong and unchalleneable in Bamenda and the North West province, some readers, unfortunately, wanted to crucify me. When I informed this forum that the SDF hierarchy has been touring foreign countries and International financial organizations to clean the image of the CPDM government, some readers, unfortunately, were asking for proofs. When I stated that the CPDM government has reached an aggreement with the SDF hierarchy concerning the sharing of the money Cameroon will receive if the SDF washes the image of the government abroad, some readers, unfortunately, said that I was writing fiction. When I stated that part of the money paid to Cameroon by the world bank and IMF for passing the exam will be given to the SDF, some readers, unfortunately called me a fiction writer.

I thank God, events are unfolding to confirm all what I have been stating here:

1) If since 2004, the government could not have given the money that the SDF needed to run a NATIONAL presidential election, why should the money be made available only now for an intra-party convention in Bamenda?

2) Why does the government have to wait until Cameroon passes the examination to become one of the poorest countries in the world before giving the SDF money?

3)Why has the government waited for foreign countries and International Financial organizations to give Cameroon Financial gains for passing this examination, before paying the little sum of 105 millions to the SDF?

4) If this was money the government has been keeping since 2004, can Mbah Ndam and the SDF hierarchy tell us if any interests were paid? And if not, have they asked for it?

5)And if this money was what the SDF had been expecting since 2004, why can't Mbah Ndam tell us how the money will be used to cover the deficits that the SDF incurred during the 2004 presidential elections.

6) If this is money that the SDF had been expecting for the 2004 presidential elections, can Mbah Ndam tell us who has taken the decision for this money to be diverted into the organization of the Bamenda convention? Is it a decision of NEC, NAC or the SDF convention? Is Mbah Ndam the one to determine the fate of an ammount that had been budgeted for a particular exercise? Who have decided that this money should be used to boost the upcoming Bamenda convention?

7) From previous reports, we understand that this "thank you payment" from the CPDM government alone, is far more than the amount budgeted for the upcoming Bamenda convention. What would be the outcome of the remaining amount? And who determines this outcome? Is the budget of the current convention now at a decicit or surplus? How will it be balanced?

8) If the money was meant for the 2004 presidential electiions, has the current NEC the moral and legal authority to decide the fate of an ammount that was owed the SDF? If the current NEC members are going in for elections just in a week's time, has Mbah Ndam, a candidate for the next NEC, the legal authority to be telling the world how the "Thank you payment" from the CPDM government will be used?

Normally that money should have been kept aside for the incoming and elected NEC to decide its fate.

I know some readers will either ignore what I have written or they will pretend not to see any sense in it. Fortunately this is not a fiction, but a logical analysis, and I would appreciate ONLY logical thinking in this. And as we reason logically, I would point out that my thinking is based on two things, which are not clear:

a) The timing of the payment of this money

- Money meant for 2004 presidential elections;

- coming in just a week to the Bamenda convention;

- Coming in just a few weeks after the World Bank, IMF and other Financial Organizations decided that money be "pumped" into the Cameroonian economy.

b) The authority to decide the fate of this money.

- Can its faith be decided by those who are going in for elections, and who normally are mere candidates for NEC?

For sure, this is NOT fiction. Is it?

Why I Pity Ben Muna (IV)

Now, just imagine you are Boniface Mbah Ndam, kid brother to the other. You’re brilliant and young and only a few years into practice. You braved it all alone against a battery of lawyers (including the redoubtable Charles Tchoungang) defending Ngwasiri in the matter between NEC/Fru Ndi and NAC/Ngwasiri. You hold your own so bravely for NEC/Fru Ndi and are only mildly bloodied in court. You even nearly win. You lose the case only slightly.

Instead of praising you for your bravery and good work, those who hate your brother Hon. Joseph Mbah Ndam, insult you and call you names. They say you only managed to enter the Bar because you are the kid brother of Hon. Joseph Mbah Ndam. They say NEC/Fru Ndi won’t have lost that case had more experienced lawyers (and they are aplenty in the SDF) been brought allowed to handle the matter.

What if those who hate your brother say he shoved aside better qualified lawyers from the matter in order to give you, Boniface Mbah Ndam, a little “dull PUPIL lawyer” a chance to be known. Would you think that’s fair? Certainly not.

Or what if you were the teenage son of Ni John. Smallish, dark, brave, eloquent (like Ni John himself) you may be eyeing a political career. Naturally, everyone would admit. Some on this forum saw the way you made your soapbox début in Bamenda at the SDF extraordinary convention in September 2004 to choose the SDF’s candidate for the Coalition candidature.

Delegates in the hall saw you, the young Fru Ndi, mount the podium and you did just like your father – you spoke so well. At least a few votes, maybe a lot of votes, were won for Ni John thanks to your performance. And many agreed that you have a future in politics. But hardly anyone knows your heart. Speaking is an art that you could have been learned from your father but hard to say about character. Don’t we say, “Man di born pikin but he no di put he heart”?

Now, if in another decade from now you, the young Fru Ndi, began breaking grounds in politics or any other station in life, would it be fair if anyone, finding faults with your father today, stigatise you and write you off simply for being your father’s son? And if you fail in every station in life; if after your father sent you and your siblings abroad for studies you returned without a degree, would it make sense if anyone said you failed because your father was an opposition leader?

What is this father thing all about over Ben Muna?

I’ll explain why I chose today, doomsday-8, for this reflection on Ben Muna. Tomorrow, doomsday-7, I’ll be saying why I don’t mind Mbah Ndam.

that`s very intriguing of a commentary line. From II and III, I really saw you coming great.
Personally think there`s some kind of inappropriate Munaphobia and some just follow the smoke without knowing where the fire`s lit.
About the authorization and disbursement of money to the SDF only recently,it is an almost normal practice of derailment or call it the CPDM`s tactics of weakening its main opposition.
We wouldn`t ignore, the CPDM`s actions aimed directly or indirectly at the opposition greatly determines how the SDF functions. Like upholding a court judgment or the reasoning behind the grant or refusal of permission to carry a manifestation.
They simply couldn`t withhold the finance forever. The timing however is worrying. WHY only now? If I may attempt an answer., The CPDM is not expecting a fight from the SDF now.The SDF has been sufficiently rocked by huge internal conflicts...from ART 8:2 sentences, to the Ngwasiri imbroglio.The CPDM does not see any miracles coming from the embattled convention.
Most importantly, at one point it becomes greatly important for the the CPDM to maintain a camouflage of an opposition, to keep its picture of Cameroon`s politics as being balanced.
The writing is so clear, the SDF that will dream of power is that headed by a Francophone.If not, it remains "Le parti de Ni John et les Anglophones" Take it or leave it, if the big ambitions the SDF set for itself were to be within an acceptable posibility, then the deliverers are not the the people at its helm.It may not be the right time for Ni John to step down, as it could imply the Ngwasiri camp had or made a point. But the future of this party no longer points with Ni John.
If we were to entirely clamour for an Anglophone leadership or a framework to channel the plight of the Anglophones, then I`m afraid the SDF doesn`t win this call.
My goodness why is our future as Anglophones so disoriented.
Are we fighting to improve the living standards of our area or fighting to dislocate from La Republique? Betterstill, is separation the only way to get better roads,jobs,stadia,seaport,airports etc? Are we trying to get better treatment or high living standards through the SDF or through the SCNC?

Why I Don’t Mind Mbah Ndam (I)

The years when the SDF was at a crossroads whether it was a political party or pressure group are now gone. The party is fully in politics. That is POLITICS. In both senses, if you understand.

However, as old habits die hard, the SDF maintains its notoriety as an activist group; the one political organisation in the country that still gives the CPDM sleepless nights, even with its official shrunken national spread and low rank and file morale.

This double status, of POLITICAL party and barefaced pressure group has become an asset understood only those who know. It’s a very creative hybrid status.

Internal blunders and perpetual rigging of elections by the Biya regime have left prospects for the SDF ever getting to power looking bleak by the day. At the rate, it looks like it will take another age before that ever came to pass.

Faced with this frustration, many have seen the option of the SDF taking seats in government as the next realistic step while waiting for an appropriate time when the playing field will be sufficiently level to accede to power on merit.

Seeing the catastrophic effect joining the Biya government has had on other parties, that option has become a dilemma to the SDF. Left to a group of influential militants of the party, most of them in parliament, the party should have given the damn, faced the stark reality and taken its seats in the government BECAUSE TIME IS RUNNING OUT for people of a certain age.

Never mind that they point accusing fingers at others. They know that we know the truth.

Conscious of its lack of legitimacy, the Biya regime faced its own reality that it can’t have its peace to eat quietly if it doesn’t pamper the SDF in some way. The thieving rich can’t enjoy their meal if they don’t throw some crumbs to quiet the wailing poor.

Biya has found a way to make the SDF to tone down without muscling. That way, the SDF can be patient and WAIT for its time, while the Biya regime went about its business without having to be looking over its shoulder. Biya is telling the SDF, “Look, you have the potentials but you have to wait for your turn. In the meantime, let’s be friends and…well, you know what friends are for.”

Fru Ndi, left to himself, his old radical, intransigent self that many criticized in the mid-1990s, would have been in difficulty to make a sudden about turn to UNDERSTAND the terms imposed by this new realism.

It takes one who understands the system to make the Chairman see. It takes a young talented lawyer who knows how to read the signs, to advise an early day headstrong crusader like Ni John the name of the game.

I’ll explain why I chose today, doomsday-7, to reflect on Mbah Ndam and I'll be back.

You should understand my silence for now. We are very close to D-Day and I have no time to waste with agent provocateurs.
You see their tactics? After failing to paint Fru Ndi black using Kremlin or will you say machiavellian tactics, there are now using whitewash in another arena. The tactics is to pull you into useless debates and dispersing of energy so that you keep off tract the strategizing path of pulling the Cameroons out of the current mess in which it finds itself because of those who want power without knowing what to do with the said power.
If you doubt what I am saying, ask the forty somthing Professors and Professeurs Agrégés holding the strings of power in this country what they are doing with the said power.
As for the handing in of money to the SDF now? You have to understand that, that is part of the political strategy of the RDPC in weakening its opponents. Remember that Paul Biya once told François Soudan of the very uncredible French Weekly Magazine Jeune Afrique l'Intelligence that he helps the SDF. Some one who can help his opposition but finds it very difficult to help his on country, makes me wonder in which world we are really living. It is just an old playing style and the SDF base understands that nobody can be derailed by such actions.
Keep reflecting untill we meet in Bamenda, guys.

You guys made some very intriguing and intelligent points here note of pointing out to some who think there is no love relationship between the CPDM and the SDF.There is!! Looking back from the creation of the SDF I think at that time the objectives of the party were quite motivated towards combating and counteracting and while not challenging any misleadership of the ruling party.But today,the SDF is just a representative of the CPDM.Look at the timing of the finances dued to be paid the SDF since 2004 for presidential election campaigns,only for Mbah Ndam to tell us that ".....the money is in the process of being paid"Imagine brethren what game the CPDM is playing with these stooges of the SDF.

Secondly,the authorisation of the Bamenda Convention by the S.D.O just now is very abrupt.What do we learn from it?It brings to mind the fact that the Party is in chaos and need more endervours to be put in place to survive its lost morale and image.

Thirdly,the multi-million dollar question is: Has the ruling of the Foundi High Court change the status quo about the ruling of the party or helped in the settlement of the dispute within the party? Or Does the S.D.O's approval of the Bamenda Convention illegal to contradict that to be held in Yaounde?

Lastly, I want to advice those in this forum who vehemently 'hate' names than ideas or political affiliations.No one should direct or try to enforce a political affinity in someones brain.This forum is a free and fair and why not democratic as such.If you are here for deformation,accusations and counter-accusations then you will leave as you came.

To conclude therefore,Ben B,don't try to castigate political leaders and feeling pity for someone like Muna and/Ngwasiri if you are directing it to their struggle to strengthen the SDF while correcting NFJN and supporters.We should learn from the past,to live the present and improve the future.The SDF party is more of a party of name and not for our political ambitions.Look at what is happeneing in the party recently do you think it has the same grounds and mobility as in the past?Believe me or not it is a party which is under the CPDM not an opposition party anymore.It's a pity for those of us who thought the SDF would be the driving force for the Anglophone cry.We have a long way forward.....

Point of correction to all dreamers in this forum!
The money Hon. Mbah Ndam is quoted to have said will boost the convention was not contemplated when this convention was scheduled. The budget for the convention has been raised and is already in execution.
The boost the Honourable is talking about is the morale amongst militants of the party.
This morale became an issue because the now defunct Ngwasiri camp had held out in local newspapers and radios that the payment of this money had been blocked by Ngwasiri and co. who tried to divert it to their doomed group. They failed!
It should also be noted that the CPDM got 240.000 000, the CDU 13.000 000 etc. But that destined for the UPC could not be paid because the UPC MPs are from different factions and their own payment has been delayed for want of a single account No. Both factions had laid claim to the money and presented different account Nos.
In effect, this is not CPDM money as Mukete and co. want to make belief but Cameroonian taxpayers money,redistributed to them through political party funding. Whether it is right or wrong to dish out money to political parties is another issue entirely. But for the time being, there is a law to that effect. It is also questionable as to the rationale of paying in this money long after the purpose for which it was intended had lapsed.
In all fairness, the Bamenda Convention must hold with or without this money. In effect, this money is of no moment as to the holding of the convention but morale boosting to the fact that it will be paid to the SDF we have been defending in this forum against Ngwasiri, mukete and co.

Please answer the worries raised, as you want to force us into taking that you are giving the official position of the SDF.

1) Why is the money that was to be given since 2004 coming only now, just a week to the Bamenda convention? Is this a mere coincidence?

2) Why is the money coming in only after Cameroon passed the examination to become one of the poorest countries in the World? You mean to say before passing this exam, the CPDM goivernment could not have raised the tiny sum of 150 million francs?

3)Why is the government paying out the money only after the CPDM government has benefited financially from the world bank, IIMF, and other Financial organizations? Does the government needs these benefits in order to pay out a tiny sum of 150 million francs? Do you understand why I call the payment a "Thank you payment"?

4) You call the money a government money, and not a CPDM money? With Nkemngu's promotion, whose money is he going to receive? CPDM or government? Why do you people make it a habit of distinguishing between CPDM money and government money only when one of your is involved in Biya's financial game. "It is Biya's university in which Professor Asonganyi is working, but it was government money that was used to evacuate and treat tghe wife of Ni John Fru Ndi abroad."

Who are you people trying to deceive? How foolish do you people think Cameroonians are? And for how long do you people think Cameroonians will continue to be foolish?

5) You mean to say the CPDM government could not afford to pay out the tiny sum of 150 million to a big party like the SDF since 2004? Remember that the same CPDM government could IMMEDIATELY raise more than twenty million francs for the treatment of just one relative of a single opposition leader abroad.

6) Who decides the faith of this money, even if you want to "polish" Mbah Ndam's meaning of "It is believed it will greatly boost the upcoming convention."?

7) How comes that Mbah Ndam should know that the money will be deposited on a certain day and very sure of this? If he had not worked for the process of disbursing the money, how is he so sure of it? Can a real opposition leader in Cameroon be very sure of what the CPDM government says or promises? Is Mbah Ndam the treasurer of the SDF?

9) Had I not warned this forum that even if the SDF lacks the funds to organize the Bamenda convention, the CPDM government will pump in the money? Where were you when I gave this warning, and even supported it by stating that "Time will tell".? Why did you not immediately tell this forum that the budget for the Bamenda convention had been raised or was almost completed? Why has the SDF not informed the public that the money has been raised? We all criticize the government for bad faith and it is the same bad faith we practice in the SDF and in this forum. It is a pity to see even intellectuals dancing the same game in this forum. To all OVERSEAS SDF supporters:
Assuming a conservative figure of 4000 SDF sympathizers in all of diaspora; if each were to contribute a minimum of $50 “annually” @ approx 520 CFA conversion rate will yield 104,000,000 CFA - that is ONE HUNDRED AND FOUR MILLION cfa. That is enough money to subsidize the SDF and permit it to be less reliant on government whims.
All I hear in this forum is talk. If you believe that the SDF or any other opposition party for that matter meets your requirement as change agent why not make a commitment?
Personally, do not see any of these parties making any difference therefore my inactivity in this matter. But I have been reading a lot from staunch supporters in this forum.
I would consider contributing to such a fund, so long as there is accountability and transparency.
If on the other hand a contribution program in effect in diaspora, then I stand corrected. In that case the SDF should be held to better scrutiny by contributors.

Even the devil has its advocates. I am still to know where you belong. The SDF is bigger than money. If you read my posting carefully, you would have realised that this money had been released sometime ago before Cameroon ever attained the elusive completion point.
I wish to know where you belong because our primodial interest is the betterment of our miserable lives.
It does not payoff criticising everything and not proposing a better alternative with concrete steps and strategies to absolve cameroonians from misery.
Please repent and join the winning team and also try to bring your suggestions on the table for Cameroonians to appreciate.
The convention on the 26th of May could just be one of such fora. Alternatively, you could rally you associates in this forum and form a rival party with better options that the SDF has failed to offer in 16 years irrespective of the fact that you are full aware of the colossal might of the CPDM junta. A junta that has crippled cameroonians only to turn around and declare them heavily indebted and poor.
You should be challenging those who have impoverished Cameroonians not those proposing an alternative in a very hostile and corrupt environment. lest I forget,The latest this afternoon is that a judgment to a seperate suit filed by the SDF in Bamenda against Ngwasiri and his agents/assigns in the High Court has restrained them from organising anything in Cameroon in the name of the SDF.

Of course there are some on this forum who have benefited and will continue to benefit from the dreaded regime;but how many of them are there on this forum? Declaring my Camp winner will mean absolutely nothing to me as I have not yet seen how that has enervated our enemy,the CPDM.The camp that I happened to have found myself there has stood for a strong and indivible SDF; to us we think that is that way forward. We should not also forget that Prof Ngwasiri has relatives and there are people here who will like to derail us simply because of their family attachments to Ngwasiri.I know some people will be quick to ask me if Fru Ndi hasn´t relatives,but there is a difference between the two;the mojority is for Fru Ndi and lets give him the support to have just one strong SDF and when we find another person who can do it better that Fru Ndi,we give that person our support,in this way we can move forward.

Oh my God!! I guess Fru Ndi sneaked himself into Nigeria and reenergized the magic stick. I see every one now fighting to become a blind supporter of Fru Ndi. Even the Muketes and BenBs/BenFs are changing their language. Oh boy. This Fru Ndi is tough. For real, he needs to open a school where he can dish out lessons to all these professors who want to do politics. In this way one of them could discover the place in Nigeria where common sense (call it magic if you wish) is passed on to people through a walking stick. Mukete says now that even if the authorization to hold the Bamenda convention was refused no one doubts the fact that the convention must still hold. Yes Mukete, even Ngwasiri and Ben Muna can never doubt this. That is what Fru Ndi can do and they cannot. Come on boy, you will soon be here.

Guys let me tell you. I pretty much pity this Mukete guy. Hear him crying shamelessly like a child just because of the money that is supposedly going to the SDF and not to his masters in Yaounde. I know the deal was that he was going to receive a chunk of that money for doing what he used to do here on the forum. Now he is beginning to realize that he was not only serving a wrong master but a fake one.

But Mukete before we begin to receive your likes (like the prodigal son in the bible) it is good you guys learn some lessons so that you don’t continue to the mess while here with the people. Try to know the role of an opposition party in politics? I wish it was true that the SDF through the Chairman played that vital role in helping the country to go through the completion point of the HIPC initiative. After all, every body is first of all Cameroonian before being SDF militant or what ever party. By the way, the fact that only Fru Ndi delivered the cleansing that this country needed for this purpose says much about what a wonderful leader he is. You see, there are a bunch of guys passing around for opposition party leaders including your man, Ngwasiri, but nobody cares about their opinions in any state business what so ever.
And you are absolutely right Mukete when you say “Instead, the government will do everything to see into it that the Convention goes smoothly” You even went on to say that the CPDM government would do every to make the SDF strong and unchallengeable in Bamenda and the NW Province. Let me ask you this question. Apart from the SDF and the NW Province, who cares again about whether a party is unchallengeable or not and in which province? Who do you blame for the NW Province shouldering alone the responsibility of an opposition party in an emerging Cameroonian democracy after the rest of the nation have betrayed democracy because of greed? You are even so frustrated that you no longer care about the only yesterday “more popular” Yaounde convention.
Now, my advice to you Mukete. Stop complaining about money. I know this money means a lot to you because of your pay but never mine ‘body,’ for God will reward you more if you change your ways, especially avoiding to trade with the devil. Don’t even wonder if Mbah Ndam is the legitimate person to give information about the money. Be reasonable too not to turn around and ask him to go and ask for interest on the money because this only expose your large quest for money. Remember this was not an investment we made? And also remember not to ask who should take decisions about the money, because that is not any of your businesses. By the by, you said the money is compensation for Fru Ndi’s role in getting it from the World Bank and IMF. You should understand therefore that you, Ngwasiri, NAC or any of those sellout dissidents have no right to it. Ask them to look for your pay else where. Why I Don’t Mind Mbah Ndam (II)

You must be cynical not to admire this young man whom people swear their lives is dining with the devil yet delivers the goods. The question would be, Do you want the goods or the good? Is it a good heart you want (no one sees the heart; not even their very own) or the goods from the hand?

In politics you must deliver the GOODS, that is, make things happen and bring out tangible results even where things look impossible. No room here for the GOOD, or talk about values, morality, justice, fairness, equal opportunities, human rights… continue the list. The goods not the good, my friend. If you want the good, go to church. The political arena is soapbox not pulpit. Period.

Everyone can see the work of the good hand good or bad. People can only speculate on the content of the heart. So, when a political party is in dire straits, faced with a determined Biya monster regime as some of us here have rightly said, what but facing the reality makes sense? Reality will deliver the goods. Morality, values may look good, so what?

Look, you must doff your heart to Hon. Mbah Ndam for bringing in much needed realism into this SDF politics that took off with an overdose of HEART (emotional politics) and forgot the HAND (real politik).

Why I Don’t Mind Mbah Ndam (III)


Now see the goods from the hand – the fruits of Mbah Ndam’s realism:

* At every vote counting at the Supreme Court where Mbah Ndam has been representing the SDF since 1992, files for the best SDF petitions have always gone missing. Mysteriously. From Mbah Ndam’s briefcase.

Or interesting technical “errors” have been made like filing a case for candidate A in constituency B so that it is outright rejected even without a hearing. That then paves the way for a CPDM candidate to carry the day.

Someone wants to say, Whatever the case judges would still rule in favour of CPDM candidates. As if some SDF candidates haven’t won before. Didn’t Kwemo win his seat in court?

** After each of those mysterious disappearances or technical “errors”, obvious camaraderie, not anger as you’d expect, increases between the smart lawyer and the people you would expect him to scorn for stealing the files to ease victory for the Biya regime or CPDM parliamentary or municipal candidates.

*** You’ll understand this better when you know that Mbah Ndam’s vote counting commission sparring partner on the CPDM side has often been …(who?) Emmanuel Gerard Ondo Ndong, the famous chop money of FEICOM.

**** And now you’ll understand why Mbah Ndam sent a motion of support to Biya after Ondo Ndong was arrested over embezzlement.

Someone who hates Mbah Ndam said it was Mbah Ndam’s way of saying to Biya: “Papa, I beg no gree make that man call my name for dat palaver. Even if my name comot for documents dem, cover am for me. Na beg I di beg you, Papa Biya.”


Someone said he could easily believe Mbah Ndam was tapping from Ondo Ndong because SDF Mbah Ndam loyalists had in the past couple of years suddenly toned down and abstained from criticizing Ondo Ndong’s embezzlement where that would otherwise have been their sing-song.

***** Now, if you could be fooled to scorn Mbah Ndam for enriching himself, would you not clap for him when he knocked on just the right doors to make the “wicked” Biya regime suddenly became compassionate and without holding the obligatory evacuation commission meeting, summarily granted 23 million frs for Ma Rose’s evacuation to Switzerland. Didn’t he do well?

Why I Don’t Mind Mbah Ndam (IV)

Ma Rose was dying. Ni John was rushing to Bamenda to collect his old bankbook. He needed cash for Ma Rose’s treatment. Ni was all confused, his face full of tears when the darling wonder boy Mbah Ndam called him to say, “Ni no worry. I don press di correct button. Pepper don comot.”

Won’t you doff your heart to Mbah Ndam for making this politics thing interesting when by now, with all the huddles placed on our way by the Biya regime, this politics could have become so frustrating and boring?

Put yourself in Ni John’s place. Even if some idealists were crying foul that Mbah Ndam has sold the party won’t you, in Ni John’s place just say to Mbah Ndam, “Boh you be trong man”?

So, don’t blame Ni John for FOLLOWING, instead of LEADING, Mbah Ndam. Ni had to face the dynamics of politics. Na condition make njanga e back bend.

That’s not all, but that will do for now. Or you too may say more on why we badly need Mbah Ndam around to move the party forward in this newfound realism (realpolitik).

It is time to demand, vehemently, that Cameroun withdraws from Ambazonia (Southern Cameroons) following the Ordinance "QUIT NOTICE" on Cameroun to leave the territory by Mid-night May 19th. It is left for Cameroun authorities to exacerbate the situation, kill our masses as usual and face the consequences of political buffoonery, intransigence and lies-telling! This time, we instruct our masses to fight back with all they got!

The soul of the nation and ancestors in Mourning

Southern Cameroons is a different and distinct nation. With its own international boundaries defined by international treaties, it is not an integral part of La Republique du Cameroun.

Southern Cameroonians are Not citizens of La Republique du Cameroun. They are by culture, history and international law citizens of SOUTHERN CAMEROONS. They are not français Cameroonais.

But on May 20, 1972 President Ahmadou Ahidjo by Presidential decree annexed Southern Cameroons (West Cameroon), abolished the federation, divided Southern Cameroons into two provinces of his country and appointed francophone governors (proconsuls) to rule in Buea and Bamenda.

With annexation, Southern Cameroons, my Fatherland is under military occupation. Southern Cameroons is ruled as a conquered land. And I am treated as a subjugated person.

Have you ever heard that a Southern Cameroonian who is a gendarme officer or policeman has killed a francophone citizen on the street in Douala, Yaounde, Ebolowa or Garoua?

Can I count how many Southern Cameroonians have been killed in cold blood by fancophone gendarmes, soldiers and policemen?

Has President Paul Biya ever imposed a state of emergency in any part of La Republique du Cameroun?

Why is Southern Cameroons ruled under emergency laws?

Because it has been annexed and occupied by a foreign power. For La Republique du Cameroun to perpetually keep Southern Cameroons weak and subjugated it applies the policy of divide and rule and manipulates one part against the other. To impose permanent fear and keep them slaves forever, life bullets are showered on Southern Cameroonians with ease. They are tortured and maimed.

What then is 20th May? It is the day the last nail was put on the coffin of annexation of Southern Cameroons.

What does it represent? It represents the day on which Southern Cameroons international boundary with La Republique du Cameroun was violated and Southern Cameroons reduced to a colony of La Republique du Cameroun. By reducing Southern Cameroons to a colony, Southern Cameroonians have lost their freedom and right to equality with citizens of La Republique du Cameroun.

Is it right for Southern Cameroonian youths, mothers and fathers, to celebrate 20th May?

NO. It is treacherous to celebrate 20th May. No slave celebrates the day he was captured. No nation celebrates the day it was conquered. No people celebrate the day they were annexed and assimilated.

20th May is a day of national mourning in Southern Cameroons and for all Southern Cameroonians in the Diaspora.

It is a day all Southern Cameroonians should be in sackcloth and in ashes to arouse the good conscience of the UN and the democratic world to our plight in slavery.

How can a people and a nation who in 1954 were ruled by a democratically elected government be ruled by appointed foreigners in 2006?

Who benefits from this 20th May tomfoolery?

Firstly, Mr Biya and his Beti ruling clan. Secondly, La Republique du Cameroun as a whole while Southern Cameroonians are victims.

- Celebrating Black June 6, 1992 in Ndu.
- Celebrating and trampling on the blood of the heroes of October 1, 2001 in Kumbo.
- Celebrating the abandonment of the Lake Nyos Victims of 1986 to misery, short and brutish life.
- Celebrating the silent genocide visited on Kondengui Prisoners of Conscience.
- Celebrating imposition of states of Emergency and Operation Dorade with all their brutalities, rapes, atrocities and extra judicial executions.

You are perfectly right.It's high time we transform our words into action.You know in the US one man alone was able to transform and energize tha base of the democratic party.Using the internet Howard Dean the failed presidential candidates was able to raise millions of dollars for the democratic party.Because of this great achievemnt he was elected Chairma of that party.It is also hoped that we can used this forum and many others to forster democracy in Cameroon by contributing generously for the sdf.We are in the process of sending proposals to the May 26th conventon in Bamenda.This to me is just begining and a big step in the right direction.Hpoefully, we have more in stock for that party as ours is a growing movement.

You got the right to be worried about the future after the May 26th Bamenda Convention. I think it was right if Fru Ndi held a press conference. The conference would have thrown more light on many things that militants of the SDF have not been able to understand until now. Remember some of us who stand behind the one and only one SDF under Fru Ndi, have expressed concerned over the way the leadership of the party handled/ is handling the crisis. Fon Lawrence for example made mentioned of it about two or three times.
But Frank, you will see with me that most of us were concerned about the eminent divide of the SDF. If the party should finally go through this crisis successfully, then we will be able to ask questions and make proposals concerning the future.
You also got genuine concerns about the other provinces. But I think most of the provinces have been mobilizing for the convention. I know someone who is more informed about the state of things will clarify you on this.
Again I wish to inform you that we are currently putting together proposals for the Bamenda convention and I am sure some of the points you raised in your write up will appear in our proposals.
I bet you we all know the SDF needs leadership change but who is to replace Fru Ndi is the problem. As you said, people seem to be running from challenging Fru Ndi for the chairmanship. This is either because they know they are not up to the task or because they can’t win the support of the militants who see Fru Ndi as still capable of piloting the affairs of this great party. Many want to blackmail in order to win the support of the SDF militants but the truth is that a devil can never hide.
We all want to see a stronger SDF after the present crisis and we believe there is going to be a rebirth and the SDf will bounce back to the shame of those who are praying for this great party to be divided. E.g Mukete, BenB, Momo etc.

Take note that it is not the critic who counts,and not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood, who strives valiantly, who errs and comes short again and again, because there is not effort without error and shortcomings; but who does actually strive to do the deed.We all know Fru Ndi has been the one who knows the great enthusiasm, the great devotion, who spends himself in a worthy cause, who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement and who at the worst, if he fails, at least he fails while daring greatly. So that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory nor defeat.That's why we don't want him to remain dormant to pertinent issues plaguing the party!!!

Also remember that if all his(Fru Ndi's) fame is not put in use, the convention holding or not will make no change or bring nothing other than thesame silent and inactive SDF of the recent past years.We all know if a society gets rid of all its troublemakers it goes downhill as there will be no one to contradict the political opinions.That's why we need people like Ngwasiri,Muna for checks and balances in the party.I think you are not here to impersonate or impose sanctions on others for their political opinions.

We are here to err out what we see is not going on well because we believe truth is one important aspect to cleanse the party whose image is dwindling.Fru Ndi has made much errors in his recent acts of instincts,that he needs to adjust because the ultimate atom will always essentially be an error, a miscalculation that will still continuously lead the party to its doom as time unfolds.

The last NEC meeting holds in Bamenda on the 22 May 2005 at 10.000am. All NEC Members and SDF Mayors are invited. The meeting will among other matters evaluate the level of preparations for the Convention over the coming weekend.
Also, the Nfoundi High Court is to resume same day(22 May) to continue the matter in which it had delivered the controversial injuction on the 24th april that was stayed.

Begin by writing to the US Ambassador in Cameroon, how Inoni's children have filed for asylum in the US even though he is the prime minister, even though his children go to Cameroon and are under no persecution--send the letter to the White House. Why I Understand Ngwasiri (I)


You need to see your project being messed up. Somehow you’ve had one in life. Just any kind of project. Not necessarily a huge one like the SDF or anything in the public view.

You’ve entrusted it to someone. He does well. He moves the project to heights you never expected. The project is breaking grounds. Seeing the unexpected success, you sometimes wish you were the drum major in place of the one you had confided the project to. In other words you feel some jealousy. Naturally.

But you know yourself. You know that drum major is not your station in life. You know that no amount of effort would give you the charisma of your drum major. So you mind your business. You know that in life people just have to play their roles. You remember the Biblical Moses and note that Aaron was Moses’ chosen spokesman because Moses being a stammerer could not communicate. Each played their assigned roles. Good and fine so far.

Yet you won’t let even Aaron do the wrong thing even if he was endeared to the people and had won their confidence. You (Moses) know that the mission is yours and you are the custodian. The people see Aaron because he speaks to them, but the words Aaron speaks are your words.

Now if you observe that Aaron’s dealings on your behalf are no longer straight; if you notice that some unscrupulous people have infiltrated the ranks, won Aaron’s ear and are giving him bad advice, would you clap for them or whip them?

You’ll certainly take your responsibilities as custodian of the project and undertake what may look like crazy radical measures to put the project back on rails. Usually these measures look like they can kill the project but you mean well, the project is yours and you only mean to reorient it.

If anyone is hurt in the process of your reorientation; if for some reason Aaron cannot detach himself from bad company that infiltrated the ranks, Aaron and co only have themselves to blame for any short-term or long-term consequences. And you know, of course, that such a battle is not easy. But you’re set for it. For the sake of the project. And you many will not understand, in the short run.

Why I Understand Ngwasiri (II)


You are Clement Ngwasiri. Not Professor Ngwasiri. Just Ngwasiri because you could as well be Albert Mukong who wasn’t Professor Mukong. But you’re Founding Father (FF); and this not because you are professor (intellectual). You could as well be Aloysius Tebo, a non-professor FF.

You are Ngwasiri and it befalls you to be Chairman of the Advisory Council of the SDF, a post held before by the late Albert Mukong. It is a privilege reserved for FFs because the writers of the party’s constitution understood that as democracy is dynamic, as new members join the party and bring new ideas, there was need for a sort of “council of wise men” or board of directors in some sense, to watch over and ensure that the party, as it grows and embraces new ideas, does not derail from it’s original ideals, values and objectives.

No one complains. No one says the Advisory Council is a form of dictatorship of the “so-called Founding Fathers” or “those Intellectuals again” as we are now blindfolded to say with relish. Most of your fellow FFs haven't had your patience and longsuffering. They long spat on the SDF project and walked away. But you love the project. You want to see it through, even amid the bad weather. So, you stay on.

As custodian of the party’s original ideals, you are happy with the early progress of the party under the charismatic drum major, Ni John. If things happened quickly; if victory had been achieved easily, a lot would have been covered up. But luckily or unluckily, things don’t happened so quickly. The road becomes long and the true colours of some of the key players, many of them latter day arrivals, begin to show.

They lay the blame for the party’s regression entirely on the hampering tactics of the oppressive Biya regime, but you know the problem is internal. You know the party has lost its soul to the oppressor it is blaming, the oppressor it is supposed to be challenging. Reason why many early day militants have become skeptics watching disinterestedly on the sidelines and many Anglophones, whose anger is the soul of the SDF, have sought solace elsewhere – in the pro-independence SCNC.

You feel a sense of guilt that you masterminded this project that won the before they are led to their doom with sweet freedom songs on their lips. You know the party is over except there is a courages, radical overhaul and a fresh start. You refuse to see the party's future only in the light of the Chairman's charisma.

What do you, a custodian of the party’s values, ideals and objectives do in such a situation? Should you let it be just so that the party should stay alive? Yes my friends, that’s what letting it be does. It’s like, Please don’t severe the pipeline of survival because the party has to be alive in order to fight. Remember we spoke about that new realism - that realpolitik.

Do some of us expect the custodian of a party’s values to take that? Maybe we would. Ngwasiri won’t. You, Ngwasiri, begin pulling the ears of those derailing the party. They try to hook you into their line of action. You nearly stumble but you steady on your feet and continue pulling their ears.

For years and years, you do all this from within; washing the party’s dirty linen in PRIVATE, not in PUBLIC as many of us here say he is now doing. Not only are you not heeded to, mean people around the Chairman try to encircle you into isolation and ridicule you.

You decide to resign some three years ago. They beg you not to. They refuse your resignation. They need your image; that image they now want to put to question. They need you as chairman of the Advisory Council though they neglect your advice.

They want you to stay on and deceive the public that all is well, while they go about their business with the oppressor. You understand their game but stay on because politics is an arena where you don’t throw all your punches in one go.

But there’s no progress. In fact, things get worse. Your cup gets full and begins to run over. You could no longer pull your punches. You unleash them with the February decision in Yaounde.

As the conscience and memory of the party and backed by the rest of the FFs except... (who?) Aloysius Tebo, you Ngwasiri constitutionally seize control of the party and convene the next Convention in Yaounde to redefine the ideals, values and objectives of the party.

You are backed in this move by the thoughtful, fair-minded and incorruptible Nyoh Wakai, the cool but influential strategist from the North Amadou Pawa, the cautious and tactical Odille Mengue Mballa from the Centre and the disgruntled but still committed Gemu Akuchu now living in the US.

Can anyone say by what logic all FFs but... (who, Tebo?) would abandon their drum major in a struggle? And how far can that movement go if only the ill thoughts of the original pillars who risked so much for the party and compromised their brilliant careers turned against the party? Can Mbah Ndam's creativity alone take Cameroonians across the bridge?

Many have questioned why Ngwasiri didn’t rather take his good case to the already convened Bamenda convention and present it to the grassroots to decide.

We will, together with you, be seeking answers to that when we return.

You are backed in this move by the thoughtful, fair-minded and incorruptible Nyoh Wakai, the cool but influential strategist from the North Amadou Pawa, the cautious and tactical Odille Mengue Mballa from the Centre and the disgruntled but still committed Gemu Akuchu now living in the US.

Can anyone say by what logic all FFs but... (who?) Tebo would abandon their drum major in a struggle? And how far can that movement go if only the ill thoughts of the original pillars who risked so much for the party and compromised their brilliant careers turned against the party? Can Mbah Ndam's creativity alone take Cameroonians across the bridge?

Many have questioned why Ngwasiri didn’t rather take his good case to the already convened Bamenda convention and present it to the grassroots to decide.

Things are on course; today's NEC's meeting will throw more light on last-minutes developments, like the refusal of the SDF on the National Day not marching by the Governor in Yaounde. When asked the reasons for refusal, he said he was just respecting instructions from above. You all will agree with me that it is not unconnected with the so-called SDF crisis. I am sure everyone knows that NGWASIRI is an imposture - self-seekers using him in collaboration with the regime in power to destroy the SDF. They know that Cameroon will never move forward with the SDF?

No one talks about 'camps' or NGWASIRI except in Yaounde and on this forum. Yaounde has become a refugee camp for expired and soon-to-be retired politicians. All this is because we never had a good provincial chairman. The good work done by ATEKWANA & SANI ALHADJI has been destroyed by ZAMBOUE. We know the regime is dying, they will be buried alone. It is just a matter of time. After the convention everything will be okay!

Whether we like it or not, NGWASIRI and whoever advised him committed one of the worst political blunders of recent memories by staging a coup against the SDF. As I have been saying and will keeping repeating to our doubting Thomsases and those out of Cameroon that, the are NO 'camps' within the SDF. A few guys on the payroll of Ben MUNA are around causing trouble but will soon leave the scene - the music is slowing down to the end!

A reasonable and person will never takes his problems to the off-licence and at the same time seeking assitance from the very people who since May 26, 1990 are hell-bent on destroying the soul of the Cameroonian people. They know that a stronger SDF is a threat to their existence (being in power as long as possible). Let me ask this doomsday well-wishers: is the SDF a Mfoundi political party? Why are their activities felt only in Yaounde?

As AKOSON has said it, we are waiting for them (Zamboue et al) before this weekend (May 26, 2006), if not they would soon join NGWASIRI in the political dustbin.

Should I say this is bad news for doomsday well-wishers? The Mfoundi high court has adjourned the case which NGWASIRI et al have all along be hoping to takeover the SDF. They should now create their Mfoundi democratic party (MDF) since it's practically impossible to have SDF-Mfoundi.

That said, Ben MUNA is back from temporal 'exile'! He was seen hiding (today May 22, 2006 at about midday) around Hotel Prestige Yaounde, instructing his thugs to beat SDF's militants. His thugs beat and wounded a good number of our militants. When the forces of law and order were called in, they came and took sides with the dissidents. Who say says SDF-Mfoundi crisis is not being inflame by this dictatorship? Let them be happy today, tomorrow will be ours!

If you think that Ngwasiri collecting the money is not a major course for concern,then my decision to always ignore you was just in order.It is not the money that is important but the political implications that would have followed if Ngwasiri succeeded to collect the money.It would have been a convoluted issue for the SDF.If he collected the money,there is no doubt that his faction would have succeeded to go ahead with another convention in Yaounde.Hence it is not the money that is important but the consequences that would have issued

Why I Weep for Asonganyi (I)


They had to go for Asonganyi’s head, those whose game plan he was going to obstruct. You here them already trying to explain why they are doctoring lists of candidates for appointment by Ni John after he would have been declared re-elected as Chairman. They’ve similarly already doctored lists of delegates who should “vote” in the convention.

Now, you’ll begin to understand why they wanted to kill Asonganyi. Poor fellow. And now we’ll see how serious we are when we make noise about the need for an independent electoral commission and computerization of voters’ lists.

You see that man Tazoacha Asonganyi? He isn’t only thick-skinned literally. He is thick-skinned by character and has a big heart. He is a man of character. As secretary general of the SDF he knew he was the heart of the party. Just as the National Advisory Council (NAC) is the custodian of the party’s ideals, values and objectives as originally conceived, the secretary general is the memory, monitor and standard bearer of the party.

As book-keeper of the party, Asonganyi knew that it was his responsibility to keep the party on track. He did that. For over 12 years, he kept his nose deep inside the SDF’s documents, understanding them and implementing them on a daily bases. Amid the rough times the party was going through, Asonganyi handled the books and kept order within the SDF in a dignified way that maintained the party afloat and helped it weather storms.

Very thoughtful, calculative and discreet, Asonganyi observed and understood the depth of the problem of the party. Without ruffling hairs, he made his point and without raising his voice he defended his point. With this he could keep his cool and weather many storms and where others chickened out easily, Asonganyi’s thick skin kept him resistant and “immune”.

With his discreet approach to politics, he succeeded to negotiate the much heralded reconciliation forum for the party in September 2004 that brought useful human capital and so strengthened the party and gave it an "honourable" performance though defeated in the presidential election even after many Cameroonians would normally have sanctioned the SDF for breaking up the Coalition.

You can’t find any better qualities than that for the secretary general of a party like the SDF. But we hated him for upholding values, because those values shame us. So we wanted him out. Now we have him gone. We can already see the trouble staring us and there is no Asonganyi to come to the rescue.

I must say i admire some of the stuff you are posting.Fru ndi and mbah ndam dare not face truth they call Muna /ngwasiri all sought of names but beleive me these guys are even worse,i have always admire Asonganyi as the sdf SG he was a technocrat,who understood the sdf unfortunately he was not interested in making money like Mbah Ndam and Fru Ndi.Fru ndi's case is disheartening because he was easily converted,i am sure this might have contributed to late ma Rose dissappointment and subsequent heart attack.She must have seen the husband changed so fast that,nature will not allowed her bring him back to order.

I`m asking you to comtinue to be a destroyer and intensify your bid to dissect the party,in order to become my political adversary.From all indications you know i would not want to make friends with you.You people have despatched people to attend both the Bamenda and Yaounde Conventions,when next i say you are a divisive entity and out to destroy this party ,you will start shouting the whole place down.Is your convention in Yaounde going to hold just by sending people there,
without any prior announcement?You will never succeed to intimidate me to continue highlighting the good work Fru Ndi is doing.Your master Mukete tried and you were witness to what happened to him.I`m not comparing my militancy in the SDF with anyone,because there are different levels of militancy,but all of us are headed for the same goal.We have acknowledge time and again that there are problems in the SDf and that we must wash our dirty linen at home ,not in the market place.There`s no way you people are going to stop us from emphasizing on this idea.
