Sorry for my inability to write last week. You know, the kids had to be prepared for school and all that. You would also recall that in my last mail to you, I complained about the very shabby manner in which the water-giving snake treats us out here in Buea.
To tell you the truth, what we get from the so-called water corporation is venom, not water. The snake virtually sells us venom by any other name.
Imagine this scenario: Residents of a particular neighbourhood come together and through communal effort, pipe their own supply from the water main, which is a few hundred metres away. They have done this because SNEC says its services couldn't be stretched that far. The people are paying their bills very regularly, despite the fact that water supply is very epileptic, even in the heart of the rainy season.
Then one fine day, SNEC turns up with several fictitious bills, amounting to a few hundred francs each. The people are perplexed. They are unable to pay and not allowed to protest what by all indications is a massive rip-off. Before they can say, "SNAKE", the deadly reptile has disconnected their water and taken away the metre.
That is how basic public utilities, which normally should only attract a token fee, are taken away from your own kind back this way.
And so, Ngwa, for the past one month, your man's family and others around him, has been fetching water some two kilometers away at the famous "Ndongo Water". My man, I am seriously thinking that this venom-supplying outfit should be decently chased away, just like happened in Muyuka, Banso, and other places.
Did I not read of this chemistry teacher in Limbe, seriously doubting the good quality of the stuff the snaky fellows introduce into the pipes? Have you heard that anyone in Mutengene, Banso or Muyuka suffered from any water borne disease because their supply was not assured by SNEC? The answer is definitely "NO".
On the contrary, theirs is very well managed, with the people contributing only a token, for the running of the water board.
I hear Lipton Tea has taken over the market that was once monopolized by our very own Tole Tea. Who says we don't have an odd taste for what is foreign? Who says that our charity does not begin abroad, when our own very Oga Kwata-kwata prefers to submit himself to the rule of his European colleagues, only visiting Cameroon, the land of promise from time to time?
One of these days, make an effort to come over here and see what the tea crop has done to the town. Gendarmes and policemen are here, live! You can see them in every street corner.
They have been told to hang out at school premises, lest those Methuselah warriors, who were vulgarly deprived of their tea jobs and refused to be paid what they are due, disrupt the schooling of those who had the cash this time around, to send back their wards into the classrooms.
Ngwa, when will this executive greed end? Can you tell me in your next mail?
For now, I am going to drop my pen and head for the Kiakai-ki-laiki country, where they will be rubbing one of ours. I mean, re-blessing the man, to render him even holier and more spiritually powerful than he was, when the original ordination was first carried out, 25 years ago.
You will surely read from me on return. Before then, however, remember that we need his likes, if we still trust in genuine servants of God to get this country out of its awful plight.
Sincerely Mbella
Dear Mbella - I think you would be a dedicated Southern Cameroonian unlike your friend, Ngwa, who is a bottom feeding cockroach in the fetid francafrique ecosystme. Lately, somebody sent me a Camerounese list of honour of people that la republique and France intend to kill or lock up and throw the key. I am dissappointed that my name is not there and neither is yours.
Look at this and tell me what u think about this frog list:

GOVERNMENT PLAN TO ASSASINATE NKEA ALEAMBONG & OTHERS
REVEALED This article has been copied in full from a
recent issue of The Guardian newspaper. Plots to
silence SCNC activists? By Ashu Divine, human rights
activist The continuous arrest and detention of SCNC
leaders and activists around Cameroon is creating
fears within the SCNC organisation. It is feared the
Government has a list of over 150 SCNC activists they
must put behind bars or assassinate in a means to
weaken the organisation. It is rumoured within SCNC
sources that there has been plans to silence the SCNC
by plotting to kill the leaders or putting them behind
bars. Two months ago, Henry Fossung, leader of one of
the factions of the SCNC had declared that the
Government had on its agenda, plans of killing SCNC
leaders. Prior to the October 1 celebrations, an
assassination plot was discovered as someone purported
to have been sponsored by the Government of La
Republique du Cameroun to assassinate Ebenezer
Akwanger, the SCYL leader in Nigeria. Since then, the
number of arrests and detentions of SCNC leaders and
activists is on the rise. It is rumoured the
Government is unhappy with the negative image the SCNC
is painting. Recently on October 1st 2005, the
Southern Cameroons National Council in Belgium issued
out a petition asking for the United Nations to create
an ad hoc tribunal to try Mr Paul Biya for crimes
against humanity. Sources close to the Presidency say,
the head of state was particularly bitter with this
petition and wants a crack down on the SCNC. SCNC
activists claim there is a list from the Government
with the names of targeted SCNC activists. Prominent
in the list are the names of Southern Cameroons
leaders who are suing the government of La Republique
du Cameroun, SCNC leaders of France, Belgium, USA,
Holland and La Republique du Cameroun. The following
