Universal Peace Federation Crusades For World Peace
Rev. (Dr.) Moon and wife, Hak Ja Han Moon, founders of the Universal Peace Federation, UPF, have said peace is a necessity for the well being of humanity. The statement is contained in a peace message delivered by the Moons in 40 major cities of the world on the occasion of the 3rd World Peace Rally, which ended in Korea recently.
The Moons say with the UN's limitations in achieving world peace, the UPF is the only hope to form a kingdom of peace for the world because it represents God's victory.
They underscored the importance of lineage, stating that parent-child relationship is the most important of relationships and the only channel through which God's lineage can be bequeathed.
Besides lineage, the message also focused on true love.In a chat with The Post, Roland Fusi Atoh, Public Relations Officer of Universal Peace Federation, UPF, Cameroon chapter, during the national rally organised at the Yaounde City Council, said similar rallies would be organised in 12 towns in Cameroon and in other countries of the world.
He said the Third World rally aims at sensitising world leaders on the necessity for peace and as a way of pushing for the creation of a peace council in the United Nations.
He said this stems from the fact that people from a religious background who are non-partisan could better take decisions concerning world peace.
He stated that a very important ingredient to enhance peace in the world is to break barriers between nations and that the money the US has been spending on the war in Iraq is enough for a highway project.
The highway project is a tunnel to be constructed to link the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa to Santiago, Chile, in South America and London to New York.
Fusi Atoh expressed the hope that with the construction of the tunnel strict barriers would be broken and cultural exchanges encouraged leading to the spread of peace in the world.

Balikumbat Elite Create Committee To Probe Crisis
The Balikumbat Development Organisation, BADO, has created a committee known as "The Conflict Resolution and Reconciliation Committee" to probe into the crisis that led to the crowning of a new Fon.
The decision was taken during a National Executive Committee meeting of BADO which took place on October 21. This is contained in a one-page press communiqué signed by Ignatius Dingha Bayin, President General of BADO.
During the meeting, continues the communiqué, BADO called on Balikumbat people to sink differences that existed between the elite and the population. It also called on Balikumbat kingmakers to act in unison and in accordance with the traditions and customs of the Balikumbat people.
It equally urged the administration to "meticulously, objectively resolve the said controversy surrounding the throne of Balikumbat. The population, for their part, was called upon to remain calm as the above-mentioned authorities probe into the matter.
Finally, the communiqué invited all sons and daughters of Balikumbat to massively attend the forthcoming BADO Annual General Assembly and cultural manifestations scheduled to run from November 30 through December 3, 2006.
The meeting, Dingha confessed, was a very stormy one, but ended amicably as BADO executive members drank in the same bar immediately after and later attended church service together.
