The Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC, Rev. Dr. Nyansako-Ni- Nku says the Golden Jubilee of the Church next year will mark God's abiding grace and a Cameroonian expression of the Christian faith.
PCC women celebrating

He made the observation in a message to all PCC congregations in the country, during the 49th anniversary of the independence of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon celebrated November 12.
Rev. Ignatius Jum of the Bastos congregation in Yaounde delivered the message.
It was the Church's birthday and Christians fondly remembered how the PCC was born after it gained its independence from the Basel Mission on November 13, 1957.
"The Golden Jubilee shall be the celebration of 50 years of frail human endeavours of evangelisation, which have provided hope to thousands of human lives through our social societies," the Moderator said.
Expunge Vices
The Moderator called on the leaders and people of Cameroon to seek the Lord Almighty and submit to this sovereign demand for love, justice and righteousness."Corruption and the lack of good governance that has brought our country to its knees should be exposed and expunged from the soul of our nation.
Let Cameroon be given a new start in the name of all that is clean and holy," Nyansako said. The man of God regretted that even though it is at the threshold of the Golden Jubilee, the PCC was yet to attain its goal of self-reliance.
He said besides the fact that HIV/AIDS continues to pose a threat, the PCC university project was yet to be realised. Decrying threats of spiritual emptiness in the society, the Moderator said the mounting presence of evil in the society is such that one could be tempted to think that Satan is winning.
"We are visited by overwhelming problems and even some of our best people succumb to the power of Satan," he said. He, however, took solace in Jesus' assurance that, "the power of death shall not prevail against his church and his people."
Return To Roots
In a moving sermon, Rev. Dr. Anyanbot, the Dean of the Faculty of the Presbyterian Theology in Yaounde, called on members of the congregation to return to their roots by renewing their relationship with God.
Drawing inspiration from Corinthians 3:5-23, he urged members of the congregation to strengthen their faith in God and fight against the ills rocking the society. Within the context of this commitment, the pastor said he expected all Christians of the
congregation to fight against corruption, homosexuality and other ills by renewing their relationship with God.According to him, the church would be considered to have grown to maturity when Ministers will fully develop the fear of the Lord and work for the general interest of the people.
He quoted St. Paul as saying that we are all co-workers, working in God's vineyard. He called for full commitment in the sharing of the word of God. He condemned ethnicity, division and discrimination in church, stating that their Bastos congregation is not a place for friends to meet and chat on other issues, but a place for them to share the word of God. To him, when the PCC clocks 50years next year, it will be time for stocktaking for Christians.
Song and Dance
The PCC 49th anniversary was marked by enormous euphoria. It was celebrated under the theme "Upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail."
All church groups nodded to the anniversary rhythms. Song and dance took centre stage in a divine service conducted by Rev. Pastor Ignatius Jum.
