National President of Cameroon Democratic Union, CDU Dr. Adamou Ndam Njoya has accused the SDO of Noun Division, Bapés Bilong Dieudonné, of trying to destabilise the CDU party and its militants in Noun.
Ndam Njoya was speaking at a press conference he organised to enlighten the public on the rioting in Foumban last December 21 that led to death of a certain Njifou Hissa.
On that day, over 150 heavily armed gendarmes and anti-gang troops had besieged Ndam Njoya's residence in Foumban and started firing bullets and tear gas at members of Ndam Njoya's family.
When the news reached the inhabitants of Njinka-Ndam's quarter, they poured out to protest the siege.Suddenly, the troops turned their fire on the locals and in the process, shot and killed Njifou on the spot, leaving his private secretary and many others seriously wounded.
The violent campaign apparently stemmed from the unlawful installation of a descendant of Njoya's family to head it as first class chief. But not only was it proven that the said Mongbet Vessah Ibrahim wasn't in any way part of the Njoya's family, but most importantly that Njinka had never, in history, been a first class chiefdom.
According to the CDU President, the SDO of Noun has connived with the Sultan of Foumban, Ibrahim Mbombouo Njoya, to destabilise the CDU party and its militants in the Noun to avenge the defeats CDU has been inflicting on the CPDM party which has its stronghold in Foumban.
Talking to the press, Tsapi, Ndam Njoya's lawyer deplored Bapés Bilong's behaviour, whom he said chose and crowned a chief in his office. He stated that Bilong even blocked the US Ambassador who was visiting community projects in Noun.
According to our sources, General Mambou was dispatched to investigate the matter but nothing has yet transpired.
