A Sales Inspector of Brasseries du Cameroun in Sa'ah, a locality in the Centre Province, Germain Francois Yogo and a Yaounde-based civil engineer, Jean Bosco Evini grabbed one Hilux pick-up each from Pari Mutuel Camerounais, PMUC on Thursday, February 2.
The two triumphed as winners of PMUC Quinté +4 sur 5 game that was played last January 28.Dubbed American prize (Prix D, Amerique), the game was expected to produce an absolute winner to grab FCFA 20 million and two pick-up vehicles if he or she could get the correct order of the finishing positions of horses in the race.
But it happened that there was no absolute winner. Many winners rather got the finishing positions of the horses in the disorder. The development caused the PMUC authorities to do a selection on TV in a draw in which the two winners emerged and qualified to grab a pick-up each.
The two vehicles were handed over to the winners in a solemn ceremony at the PMUC headquarters in Yaounde, on February 2. PMUC authorities, including its Sales Manager Jean-Francois Pereira brought in Miss Cameroon Martha Keza Trounba, who hails from the North, to give the event additional aura of euphoria.
It was Miss Cameroon who handed over the keys of the vehicles to the winners amidst shouts of joy from onlookers. With majestic steps, Yogo moved out, got into his newly won car and started the engine and hooted.
The car has the immatriculation No. CH001876. The other winner, Evini did same with his own immatriculated CH 0007409.Speaking to The Post, the PMUC Sales Agent, Monique Ngombok, in whose kiosk Evini played the game, said the man played FCFA 16.800 in his determination to win the game.
