Bafut CPDM barons, who have been at cross-purposes over what should be done to ensure the success of the party, seem to have brokered an understanding.
Bafut Resource Person No.1, Prince David Achirimbi Suh told The Post, admitting that he and Kennedy Mbonifor, Parliamentary aspirant, had met and agreed to work together, but made no further comment.
Prince Achirimbi and Mbonifor had earlier disagreed over the idea of announcing a candidate for the CPDM before the Central Committee announces primaries or carries out reorganisation.
But Mbonifor had gone ahead to declare himself not only as Parliamentary candidate, but also list leader for Mezam CPDM.Prince Achirimbi, whom many had regarded as the be-all-and-end-all for the CPDM in Bafut, was absent.
A decision by Oliver Colday Ndofke to let him speak his mind on "Red Carpet", a popular Bamenda CRTV programme, therefore came as a welcome relief. In the programme, Mbonifor portrayed himself as the Messiah who had decided to use the scarce resources he had for the benefit of Bafut.
He castigated all those who questioned his CPDM militancy as well as allegations that he vamoosed with FCFA 8 million belonging to President Biya Youth Movement, PRESBY.
Mbonifor could however not account for Achirimbi's absence but insisted that for CPDM to win in Bafut there must be teamwork.
He claimed he was running for Parliament because Bafut and Tubah people had implored him to do so and that if defeated at CPDM primaries, he would still work for Bafut. He mocked the SDF, which he said now exists only in some parts of the Northwest.
To him, the SDF National Chairman dines with the CPDM.
Mbonifor claimed that he brought the SDF to Bafut and will bury it there.According to Mbonifor, the SDF Chairman, John Fru Ndi, sees him as a thorn in the flesh of the SDF party in Bafut.
The crisis in Bafut CPDM began when Jonathan Bangabe, Section President, died. Many have described Bangsi, who took over as acting President, as "a handpicked leader who lacked the legitimacy to lead".
The death of Mrs. Esther Njiyang, WCPDM President and the disqualification of Henry Ntumngia, by the Central Committee, as too old for YCPDM President, further compounded matters.
Most Bafut CPDM militants see a reorganisation of the party's basic organs as the only way out of the crisis.
Mr. Mbonifor, I support your canditure but will plead with you to sort out you differences before it's too late. You are not only running for the Bafut people but for Tubah as well, so you have to bear that in mind. Please stop throwing words at Ni John Fru Ndi , for he's someone well respected in the North West. You fully know, you can't totally bury the SDF in Bafut. You have to work very hard to win the mind of the common man by matching words with actions. Mr. Bangsi Victor, is one of the very few straight guys in the CPDM in Bafut. Be him a hand-picked or not, I think most members and the youths especially should give him the chance to lead the party in Bafut sub section for now.God bless you guys but always stand on the truth for it what a North West man and woman wants.

Mbonifor Kennedy Its all reaching that aspiring as a parliamentary hopeful for bafut and Tubah is no doubt that new blood will be introduced into the CPDM arrangment in your area. you have to bear in mind that you are an SDF born politician. What ever your following today, you still own tribute to the SDF. Refine your ways of talking. keep away from arrogance. Modern politicians must be refined
you claim Mr mbangsi lacks legitimacy as he was not elected. You failed to understand that legitimacy can come from charisma. Learnt to play the game of argument and avoid that of force. God bless you good luck
