Aspiring CPDM Meme I Section President, Hon. David Ngoh Motase, has replied incumbent Prince Ekale Mukete's petition likening him (Ekale) to "the principle of crabs in a bucket with each crab struggling to get out of the bucket, and when it fails, it pulls down all others that are on the verge of being liberated."
Motase:Won't go easy
"I wish to draw the commission's attention to the fact that irrespective of any disciplinary action to be taken against Prince Ekale Mukete on this fact, I shall settle this issue in the court of law," reads the reply.
Motase challenged Ekale to show documentary proof that he (Motase) is a political bureau member of the ANDP.On the issue of previous records as "post holder" in the party, Motase said he was the Treasurer of the Cooperative Branch of YCPDM Kumba, between 1987/89.
Motase picked holes with Ekale on allegations of dishonesty levied against his person. He said the allegation has not been substantiated with any evidence hence it is obnoxious and unwarranted.
Responding to Motase's reply, Ekale said as a militant coming from another party, the onus of providing membership is on him (Motase).Consequently, he regretted that Motase has no copies of resignation letters in the records of Meme I Section, where he purports to have been reintegrated into the CPDM party.
Ekale added that his opponent's claim that he was Treasurer of the Cooperative Branch of YCPDM does not qualify him as a party post holder within the context of the present election.
"This is because from 1989, Motase resigned from the party and by so doing, annulled or erased his past activities in the CPDM. He is, therefore, expected to reintegrate into the party from the base, so as to acquaint himself with the party text," Ekale remarked.
The Section President reaffirmed that Motase has failed to rebut the allegation of doubtful morality and intimated that he has several cases bearing offences relating to moral impropriety.
"Disqualifying Motase will only conform to the National Chairman's Circular No. I/CPDM/PN of 19/03/2007 on the reorganisation of basic organs of the party," Ekale contends.
Fraudulent Changes
Another communiqué signed by Ekale, with an attached list of fraudulently deleted Branch Presidents, copied the National Chairman, other party hierarchy and forces of law and order, dwelled on the fraudulent changes of Branch Presidents in the present Electoral College list.
Ekale noted that 151 victorious Branch Presidents were deleted from the Electoral College list that was established by the Committee. He intimated that it is an established fact that the local reorganisation committee duly validated and installed the 933 Branch Presidents in the entire 19 Subsections without a single written or verbal protest.
