The National Chairman of the Union for Democracy and Progress, NUDP, Bouba Bello Maigari, has reportedly threatened legal action against his own militants over misappropriated elections funds.
Bello Bouba allegedly issued this threat during a meeting he held with militants of his party at Ayaba Hotel, Bamenda, recently. The Post learned from those who attended the meeting that there was a lot of bickering over funds.
Bello Bouba is reported to have been angered that funds he sent for the registration of Parliamentary aspirants were not used for that purpose. It was also reported that only a handful of militants turned out to receive the Chairman during his first official visit to Northwest in more than a decade.
Most of the militants were workers at the Northwest Delegation of Post and Telecommunications; the Ministry Bello heads. Before the meeting, Bello told journalists that he could only speak to them after his visit to Misaje, Donga-Mantung and Ngoketunjia.
But The Post was later informed by UNDP insiders that the turnout at Misaje and Ndop was scanty. In Misaje for instance, the local administration tried to cajole people to turn out by giving the impression that Bello was visiting in his capacity as Minister of Post and Telecommunications.
However, local CPDM barons, among them the Section President, who told the people that Bello was coming as NUDP President punctured this move. Cattle owners, most of them Moslems, could have come out, but were reportedly told that if they boycotted and joined the CPDM, their "jangali" tax would be reduced.
At Dumbu, one of the main towns in Misaje Subdivision, only six militants reportedly received him, whereas 30 T-shirts had been sent out there.Bello's hopes were slightly raised when about 12 Fons, going for a NOWEFU meeting in Bamenda assembled at the Misaje Palace where he met them.
The Fons initially planned to give him a traditional title with the hope that he as Minister would appreciate in monetary terms. But a disagreement ensued among them and the idea of a title was dropped.
Bello, however, still "washed the palace" (gave a token to each Fon).Because of the low turnout, Bello told the few.The Post again gathered from NUDP insiders that the turnout in Ndop,
Sabga and Fundong, which he equally visited, was nothing to write home
about.
Despite this disappointing turnout, Bello still boasted to the press that his party was waxing strong.
Speaking to reporters after his return from Donga-Mantung and Ngoketunjia, Bello refuted allegations that the NUDP had lost a majority of its militants because he joined Government. He said the party would prove its strength at the July 22 polls.
The problem in Cameroon is simply that the number of political parties are becoming more than the people them selves. Let all or most opposition parties unite together and fight for a common goal.
Mr Belo Bouba, pls creat an alliance with strong parties like the SDF, CDU and never with the CPDM.

Bello Bouba should stop fooling himself. Since he joined those groups of kleptocrats and government doctrined by plutocrats, he has become a wanted man not only by rightminded citizens of the world but by his own concience. His crimes against humanity will hunt him forever.

THESE PAN-CARRIERS CALLED FONS WILL NEVER GROW! THEY ARE BIG BABIES, CROOKS AND AS CONFUSED AS BELLO BOUBA HIMSELF. WHAT TITLE WERE NORTHWEST FONS GOING TO BESTOW ON THE OFFSPRING OF A CATTLE FULANI FROM THE NORTH? SHAME ON THEM ALL!
