Disobedience, Intimidation, Bad Ink
Despite repeated sensitisation of political stakeholders on the electoral code by the Bui SDO, there were still some hitches at polling stations.
Some people voted and refused to quit the polling stations, and were only dispersed by the SDO.At CPMS Ltd hall in Jakiri some SDF militants as testified by the DO for Jakiri Subdivision, Alhadji Sanda, threatened, intimidated and even blocked voters from casting their ballots.
One student from the National Veterinary Training School, Jakiri, whose only name was given as Cyprian, was reportedly attacked by SDF hooligans after voting at Jakiri Cooperative Society depot.
It was reported the one of his arms got fractured in the scuffle.
In some polling stations visited like Kuvlu Market Square, two containers of indelible ink were opened but no ink was found in them.
Several voters' cards too, were found piled at certain polling stations without owners to collect them.In the meantime, some people still transported passengers and goods on motorcycles and vehicles polling day thus violating a MINDATD order of no movement on that day.
Some of these irregularities notwithstanding, the elections wrapped up in Bui Division without major incidents.
