A football tournament christened Bui Sports Fans Competition, BSFC, started recently in Yaounde at the P&T School playground in Ngoa-Ekelle with six teams taking part.
The competition, which is in its maiden edition, is organised by Bui Strikers Football Club.
The aim of the competition is to identify talented youths from the Bui
community in particular and offer them facilities and opportunities to
become world-class professionals.
Football officials from Cameroon working on firm instructions from foreign football clubs have been keen on their choice of players during the first and second days of play.Emmanuel Shofola, told The Post that players short-listed at the end of the competition would be submitted to managers of football training clubs in Europe who are the major brain behind the initiative.
He also revealed that their ambition is to see to it that an "Eto'o Fils" emerges from the competition in future.The competition, which is being played every Saturdays and Sundays, will end on September 30.
The third day of play shall witness Shufaay Buea versus Shey Tasha and Shufaay Bastos against Shey Mbifngwen.Speaking at the end of the first encounter, Shuufaay Bastos expressed gratitude to the Bui Strikers FC in the Diaspora for taking up the task to Bui youths.
Meanwhile, members of the Bui Strikers FC meet regularly every Saturday
morning at the Emma-Ottu playground at Cite Verte for body building
exercises, jogging and playing football.
Founded in 1985, Bui Strikers FC is a sporting club that brings
together the sports-loving public of Bui origin based in Yaounde.
