In recognition of his contribution towards the development of Jakiri Subdivision, the people of Jakiri in Bui Division have resolved to immortalise their fallen leader, Christopher Kilo Fai Nsahlai.
This was one of the resolutions arrived at during a recent ordinary session of the Jakiri Council. The councilors resolved to name the area in front of the grandstand "Nsahlai Squares".
Nsahlai, former Transport Minister and Douala Ports Authority Board Chair died last April 18 in Yaounde and was buried in his native Mantoum on the outskirts of Jakiri on May 8.Before his death, Nsahlai had thrown all his weight behind a grandstand project for Jakiri that was initiated by the local administrative authorities. This explains why his mortal remains were briefly laid in state at the uncompleted grandstand on May 7.
Nsahlai, many agreed, had vowed to see the project through and was sure it would give the town a new face lift.Despite opposition from certain quarters including CPDM militants, the Jakiri administrative authorities and Nsahlai proceeded with the project that also witnessed forceful contributions from many residents of the area.
Jakiri Council Mayor, Lawrence Bayena Shang, and his councillors however, assured the population during the council session of their determination to continue with Nsahlai's legacy, especially the grandstand project.
In a chat with The Post, the MP for the Jakiri special constituency, Hon. Wirngo Buba Kibo, assured the population of their determination to fill the gaps left by Nsahlai."I'm sure he groomed us enough. Though we regret his sudden departure, we believe he trained successors. The Mayor and I will forge ahead," Hon Wirngo declared.
Suspicion Persists
Reports say anger and suspicion characterizes life in the Nsahlai family over the "sudden and unnatural departure" of one of theirs.A dependable source quoted late Nsahlai's wife Henriette as saying that but for the official burial ordered by the Head of State, she would have preferred to bury her husband in Yaounde.
The source said the family holds strongly that Nsahlai's death had its genesis from his participation in the Ngonnso cultural festival that ended on April 13.Nsahlai, who actively took part in the celebration, suddenly developed a strange ailment that precipitated his death.
Emmanuel Kongnyuy Nsahlai, the deceased's son, had left no one in doubt when he openly declared at the funeral that his father did not die naturally.
Why all these nonsense talk about Nsahlai, Jakiri and Development? Why mixing up things that have no relationship? Was this man killed by Southern Cameroonians? Was Jakiri waiting for Nsahlai to front its development? Jakiri belongs to the Southern Cameroonian people and we will develop it when given the opportunity to do so. People who have worked hard to under-develop Jakiri will be paraded as people who wanted to develop Jakiri. Nonsense. Nsahlai lived all his life in Yaounde, dine with the enemy, married Biya’s relative, became a traitor and was being paraded as an Anglophone. Was Nsahlai a true Southern Cameroonian, erstwhile Anglophone? These sort of families that have been brainwashed in the capital of La Republique only comes to us when they want to lie to us during election time. That is what Nsahlai was doing. Just like Atangha Nji Paul, the Walipenja’s, Dion Ngute’s, Muna’s, Forjindam’s, etc.

Rexon, the presense of people like John Fru Ndi on the day my father in law was buried is a testament of the type of person that he was. What he always wanted was to bring the two parties(SDF and CPDM) together no matter their differencies in ideology, so that they can work for the common good of the nation. Just to give you a head's up,to do that is not a day's job. But, when I see people like you writing petty things like him marrying my mother in law because she is a francophone, or dragging his name in the mud for jealous reasons, I really feel pity for you. He obviously worked hard for whatever he got in life and i know for sure he is in a better place. Will you be in a better place? And for your information, he never forgot where he came from. Ask the people of Mantoum how many times he went to the village instead of using the internet to expose your jealous tendencies. I will remind you to SHOVE IT.

Albert Boston,
This Nsahlai was one of those defending Biya's constitutional manipulation. He lived and dine with the enemy over many decades, was brainwashed by the enemy whilsts working in Yaounde, worked for them and betrayed the wider interests of the Southern Cameroonian people. With all respect to his family, he was a rat with no concience at all. While we were fighting to outsmart dictator Biya, these were the people who went around preaching how good the man was, bla, bla, bla. He left a legacy of corruption and deceit. What about the money he stole (like any normal Biya's minister) that deprived the Southern Cameroonian people of significant resources that would have improved the life of ordinary Cameroonians. Is his family ready to hand it back. If you can do that, his family might be respected. I am not interested in all this stupid talk inextricably linking Nsahlai to the development of Jakiri. Like any normal Biya's minister, he was nothing but a rat that stole state resources to satisfy his selfish desire. He had no interest for the wider development of Jakiri.
