...BRITISH...BRITISH...BRITISH !!!

We're more than half a century after a people threw off the shackles of British colonialism.Yet,some people are still nostalgic about living under British slavery.Calling themselves 'Bristish' in the 21st century. This is clearly an implicit way of consenting to their inability to fight for the autonomy of their peoples. This is clearly,COWARDICE in the guise of diplomacy.

The very people who covertly or overtly jubilated when Nigeria carried out military operations on the peninsular and especially when MEND rebels hit Biya's 'foot soldiers' with mesmerising precision and efficiency. The very people who dispatched internet postings claiming to be the authors of some these attacks from the Niger Delta rebels.Trying to bask in other peoples limelight. The very people who secretly prefered that Nigeria should keep Bakassi.

Today, they're the very people 'congratulating' Nigeria for withdrawing from Bakassi.HYPOCRISY.Where were they when Cameroon won its case over Bakassi? Why didn't they take the case of Bakassi to the international judicial instances which they claim can give an ear to their case?

The "test of steal is in the furnace".Those who are advocating outright independence for the so called "Southern Cameroons" from the safety of their palm beach hotels abroad, should come out of that comfort zone, return home and open a homefront for greater autonomy in the so called "Liberation Struggle".If u truely mean business.Had Mandela remained in exile,Apartheid South Africa would still have been waxiing strong.

Had all the great sons and daughters of Africa who freed their peoples from the yoke of colonialism remained abroad and naively believed that their salvation would only come from the very people who bundled them into an 'Imperialist inferno',we as a people, wouldn't have accomplished the great strides towards self-rule.

If u aren't prepared to go the extra mile, shut your mouths and stop encouraging poor and defenseless people at home to risk life and limb over a gigantic sham called "Liberation Struggle".

Hundreds of youths(those on whom the future reposes) were butchered in February in your "Southern Cameroons" and hundreds more are still languishing in detention houses. And their crime,bc they asked fore "more bread".And what did u guys do,Ofcourse,u did what u know how to do best.Recoil in your "nests" abroad while launching an "internet jihad".Preposterous!!!

WHAT IS THE REAL FIGHT FOR INDEPENDANCE ?

I agree with the previous member Essono about the sense of the Struggle for Liberty and other points he mentioned in his comment.

I am originally from the so called "La Republique du Cameroun" or East Cameroon. I also agree that the way our admistration leads our country is the worst. Because local people are not beneficiated for their natural ressources. I could take examples from Region like East and Southwest Cameroon. Woods are exploited in East Cameroon without the local people beneficiated, also in South West which produces our petroleum, though it can not be compare with Nigeria or Equatoguinea Production. But there are still less infrastructures in those regions...

Although, I don't see one region in Cameroon profiting from the goods of our Country in detriment of the other regions. The problems in Cameroon is that, the so called "Elites" in all regions of Cameroon (South West inclusive ) are still spoiling the wealth.

So concerning the so called "Liberation Struggle" of others Cameroonians brothers, I mean their Struggle for independence of South Cameroon. I don't really understand their motivations...

1° -- maybe it could be cultural and
religious differences between people
living in South West from the other
Cameroonians?

2°-- Maybe, the presumed Oil in South West

Concerning the first point, People from South West of Cameroon and Littoral are ethnically the same people. They have the same Tradition and Culture (SAWA) as the Douala, YABASSI and BASSA in the french region, maybe the language can be different like many parts in Cameroon from the same Region.
Furthermore people living in North West are the same Tradition, I mean social, familly and tribal Organisations as the BAMILIKE in west cameroon. Even as the people from North west refuse to be called BAMILIKE... They are NOT ethnically and culturally differ from them --> They are the SAME people...

The first Point( the cultural and religious difference between People) is predominantly the first argument that leads to Separation of people from same Country like KOSOVO and SERBIA... INDIA and PAKISTAN...

SO if those people from SCNC are thinking they are culturally different from French speaking Cameroonians... THEY ARE MISTAKEN... EVEN if theoreticall I suppose that Southern WEST Cameroon is independant... There will exist big cultural difference between ENGLISH speaking people from SOUTH WEST and NORTH WEST of this entity..

SO the difference I see ist that one side of Cameroon uses ENGLISH and other side FRENCH as Official Languages... BUT THOSE DIFFERENCES DON'T make us ethnically and culturally different each other... I AM SURE IN HOLE CAMEROON THAT ENGLISH WILL BE THE MOST SPOKEN AND USED LANGAGE IN CAMEROON IN 20 OR 30 YEARS; NOT BECAUSE OF THE GROWTH OF SOUTHERN POPULATION THAN THE OTHER; BUT BECAUSE ENGLISH IS NOW A GLOBAL LANGUAGE AND WILL BE; AND MANY FRENCH SPEAKING CAMEROONIANS HAVE ALREADY AWARE... AND MAY BE AT THE TIME THE SEPARATIST COULD THEN SEE THAT THERE WILL BE NOT LANGUAGE DIFFERENCE.

BEFORE WE WERE COLONISED FROM GERMAN, LATER FROM FRANCE AND BRITAIN. We were BANTOU AND HOWSOEVER AND WE WILL REMAIN BANTOU. THAT IS OUR CULTURE; THAT IS WHERE WE HAVE TO TAKE OUR INSPIRATION TO BECOME MODERN PEOPLE AND GET OUT FROM Subdevelopment... LET'S TAKE EXAMPLE FROM ANOTHER PEOPLE LIKE JAPANESE; CHINESE, INDIANS, COREANS OR EVEN TURCS... THESE PEOPLES ARE NOT INDUSTRIALISED BECAUSE THEY HAVE TAKEN ONLY THE BEST side from the other culture and civilization and mix the best side of their own culture. They have not reject totaly their culture or trying to indentify themselves as EUROPEAN or AMERICANS... They maintains their own culture but use the european Language mainly english to attain their purposes...

SO ENGLISH LANGUAGE SPOKEN BROTHER(SEPARATISTS). DON'T LET US THINK THAT WE ARE DIFFERENTS EACH OTHER... I THINK PART OF EAST CAMEROON THAT DECIDES TO JOIN NIGERIA IN 1961 DON'T EXCEPTIONALLY LIVES BETTER THAN THOSE OF SOUTHERN WEST CAMEROON NOW. IN NIGERIA PEOPLE ARE STILL FIGHTING TO PROFITE FOR THEIR NATURAL RESSOURCES...

The TRUTH Struggle would be the figth to allow cameroonians to benefit for their natural ressources, and that fight could be won easier, than trying to separate people each other... This fight is very expensive and almost ends to the LOST of human ressource, example like the BIAFRA WAR, the CONGO war in earlier 60 with the so called KATANGA republic... These so called FIGHTS for independance are almost lost because the main RAISON FOR INDEPENDANCE FIGHT IS NOT FUNDED, as mentioned in 1° Point... for the case of SCNC and other cases like BIAFRA, KATANGA economic interests or MONEY are the cause...

I think, SOUTH western, all Cameroonians and others regions in cameroon would use peacefully politicals fights to gain from their naturals resources. BUT THIS FIGHT COULD BE ONLY WON IF PEOPLE ARE FIGHTING TOGETHER WITH THE SAME OBJECTIVE. SEPARATISM IS NOT ANYWAY THE BEST WAY TO RESOLVE OUR PROBLEMS IN CAMEROON. AS THE SEPARATISM IS CAMEROON IS NOT FOUNDED....

For those of you who can read French, read this interview in Le Messager given by the outgoing Netherlands Ambassador Norbert Braakhuis. What an objective analysis of the mess we are in. I will advice all forum members to read the interview covering all aspects in Cameroon

http://www.lemessager.net/

http://www.camerounlink.net/fr/news.php?nid=40296

the second link has possibility to translate (computer translated) into some poor readable English.
We have a lot to learn there before coming back to argue (sometimes blindly) in support of the mess in Cameroon

I think the issues highlighted there are some of the things that make people from former Southern Cameroon frustrated and want to review the union

Whatever you call yourself,BSCRG,you could be insane.

rexon

Ebonylad,

You could be the one who is insane. you cannot place yourself at par with those behind the BSCRG.

Many thanks.
