The Supreme Court has fined Fon Doh Gah Gwanyin III of Balikumbat the sum of FCFA 127,069,239 million to be paid to one Peter Njontor Ngufor. The court handed the copy of the landmark judgment that was passed last April 24 to Fon Doh, urging him to pay to Peter Ngufor for damages inflicted on his property during the Bafanji-Balikumbat skirmishes more than a decade ago.
Speaking at a press conference, Friday, December 12, in his office at Mile III Nkwen, the Director General of Farmers' House, Bamenda, Ngufor paid glowing tribute to the judiciary for rendering justice void of influence peddling.
"Before this time, most people were afraid that since Fon Doh Gwanyin of Balikumbat is a CPDM big shot, the judgment from the Supreme Court would obviously tilt in his favour. They have been proven wrong. Though the matter has taken over 13 years, I am happy the law has taken its course and the world can count on our judicial system," Ngufor said.
Asked if Fon Doh fails to pay the said sum to him, Ngufor said this is the final nail on Fon Doh and if he defaults, the court will auction his property."My happiness is not in the amount, but for the court that has proven that if you carry out wanton destruction with impunity when nobody provoked you, whether you are as mighty as what, the court will hold you responsible," Ngufor said.
The panel of the Supreme Court in Yaounde that slammed fine consisted of Messrs: President of Supreme Court, Alexis Dipanda Mouelle, two judges, Bisseck and Belombe A. and Bouelet R. L, Mrs. Mercy Njinda, Advocate General and Registrar, respectively.
In a 16-page ruling, the President of the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal from Doh on grounds that Fon Doh's lawyer, Barrister Anthony Amah Amazee filed it out of time.As a consequence: "Mindful of Section 13(6) of law No 75/16 of 8 December 1975 fixing the procedure and functioning of the Supreme Court, orders that Barrister Amazee shall pay a civil fine of FCFA 10,000 (ten thousands).
On the cross-appeal of Ngufor, the Supreme Court allowed the appeal and quashed setting aside judgment No BCA/21/2001 that was delivered on September 25 in 2003 by the Northwest Court of Appeal.
Upon re-examination of the matter, the Supreme Court entered judgment in favour of Ngufor against Fon Doh, Godfred Mbonyi, Stephen Pansiah, Michael Yutah, Peter Muvah jointly and severally as follows; for moveable property converted FCFA 7,795,000; buildings destroyed FCFA 82,854,239, moveable property destroyed FCFA 34,920,000, general damages FCFA 1,000,000 and costs FCFA 500,000, giving total of FCFA 127,069.239.
The President of the Supreme Court said at the instance of the Registrar-in-chief of the Judicial Bench of the Supreme Court, an official copy of this judgment shall be forwarded to the Attorney General at the Court of Appeal of the Northwest Region and to the Registrar-in-Chief of the said court for transcription in their respective registers.
WELL FON DOH IS BEING PUNISHED LIKE THIS BECAUSE HE IS NO LONGER USEFUL TO THE CPDM. I AM SURE A LOT MORE OF YOU CPDM CHORUS SINGERS WILL LEARN FROM THIS. IF YOU HAVE NOTHING TO OFFER THE CPDM PARTY WILL DIVORCE YOU AND THROW YOU INTO ANY DITCH THAT THEY CERTAINLY CAN

Fon Doh could be really guilty but is it not usual for the victor in a court decision to praise the leagl system? Mr Ngufor is equally a CPDM big shot. The CPDM had to take sides with the other lesser evil they can live with - in this case Mr Ngufor.
Sitting on the bench of the supreme court, is it not this very Dipabnda Mouelle who said his hands were tied and he could not declare the Fru Ndi as the real winner in presidential elections? According to Mr Ngufor he is an objective member of the supreme court now. Why was he not such an objective person during the presidential elections?
Mr Ngufor you are as corrupt as all of them. Wait for your own turn when you fall out of CPDM favour. Then you will repeat what Jackie Ndoumbe said "Les choses qui arrivent aux autres commencent deja m'arriver" (my french is not too good)
