Dr A A Agbormbai

The international community is always very useful in these matters. Well applied pressure from them can produce desired results.

However, it is not advisable to sit tight and wait for foreign countries to act alone. Their actions are usually more effective when accompanied by similar pressure from the people of Cameroon.

Pressure from the opposition parties, exemplified by the veritable action of the AFP to challenge the matter in court, is the sort of thing that is needed.

EBEN.E

Dear Cameroonian, the issue is,Fru Ndi is tired. To really succeed in this battle,Huge money is needed.Biye will use all the money from the state, to sponsor his selfish desires, How much has Fru Ndi, and the SDF?
WE all saw how Americans, give in, to support Obama, Are cameroonians ready to support Fru Ndi?
Fru Ndi, its also high time, you tell us, your plan of action, If you have hope to win the 2011, election, you must start work now.Meet the people house to house, strees by strees, tell them your plan of action.Obama did;t just wait for 2008, to be president. He move house to house, telling people about the change.

You were dead on the money. The problem with Cameroon democracy isn't the omnipotence of Biya we are made to believe. Its the inaptitude of the so called opposition to even challenge let alone confront Biya.

1)They asked for an IEC and Biya outmanouvred them with ELECAM; Their reaction? Some press release on The Post

2)Biya changed the constitution to make himself life Presidential Candidate; Their reactions? Mutt-like press conference.

2)Biya violated his own law creating ELECAM to appoint diehards militants of the CPDM;Their reactions? Silence.

Why wouldnt the people lose faith in them?
Why wouldnt the people accuse them of complacency or bribery?
Why wouldnt there be voter aparthy?

NB Dr AA: The International Community is not ready to intervene in the internal affairs of an independent nation directly. They need intermediaries (implicitly so to say).

For the first time Im calling on Ni John Fru Ndi of the SDF Party to step down.He has failed as the leader of the major opposition party in Cameroon.SDF is anything now but a party!

eyallow

SDF failed a long time ago. Where have u guys been?

Once the realization dawn on Fru Ndi that he long missed the presidential boat, his time at the helm of that party is only now a means of subsistence.

How come he can never accept to give up that post to someone else? It is as if he owns that position. We dont need to go too far to see that if he were president, he would probably seek it for life as well.

He lost his glory in my eyes a long time ago!

DR TAN OF CAMEROON

DEAR ALL
I AM VERY GLAD WITH THE WAY WE ARE SHOWING INTEREST IN STATECRAFT AS IT CONCERNS CAMEROON.
WHEN I READ , YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS, THE EMOTIONS BEHIND THEM MAKE ME TO SHEAR A TEAR.
TO AN EXTEND, I KNOW CAMEROON POLITICS. THEWRE HAVE BEEN A LOT OF MISTRUST AMONG THESE OPPOSITION LEADERS OF TODAY. THEY HAVE ON MANY PRVIOUS OCCATIONS , TRIED TO WORK AS ONE, AND COULD NOT. MR BIYA KNOWS WHAT TO DO TO THEM, HE HAS DONE OT BEFORE.
THE DEBOULE CASE , IS PROBLEM FOR NEE JOHN, BECAUSE THE CONSTITUTION AND BILAWS OF THE SDF SUMMITED TO MINAT , WILL BE CALLED IN.
ONLY A NEW MOVEMENT WILL LEAD TO CHANGE
DR NTUBA

DR TAN OF CAMEROON

DEAR ALL
WHAT DO I MEAN BY A NEW MOVEMENT.
UNIDIRECTIONAL FLOW OF RESOURECES. MANY FRANCOPHONES SHARE OUR SENTIMENTS. SOME ALSO FEEL ANGRY WITH US ANGLOPHONES AS BEING ON THE WAY, BECAUSE WE ARE AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE OPPOSITION, WHILE WE HAVE BEEN KEEPING THE POSITION OF HEAD OF GOVERNMENT FOR SOME TIME.
THOSE WHO ARE JUST POLITICAL ANALYST, DONOT UNDERSTAND POLITICS ON THE GROUND.
WHEN SALIDIARO WAS SENT TO KUMBA , ON THE CENTRAL COMMITTEE MISSION, MR BIYA DID NOT DIRECTLY SIGN, A PAPER TO SAY ELECTIONS SHOULD HOLD IN KUMBA AS THE POST REPORTED.
I COULD NOT ALSO SAY THE POST WAS COMPLETELY AT FAULT, BECAUSE THEY WERE LIED TO IN THE MEETING. I DID EVERY THING TO SUSPEND THE MEETING, GIVING ME TO RUN TO THE PRESIDENCY IN YAOUNDE , TO GET A COPY OF THE MISSION ORDER, AND OTHER INFORMATIONS. I WAS READY TO CONFRONT, THE POLITICAL BUREAU MEMBERS , FROM A POSITION OF TRUTH. MOST OF MY SO CALLED SENIOUR SUPPORTERS , RAN FROM KUMBA, TO LIMBE AND OTHER TOWNS, FOR FEAR. I TOLD THEM THAT THE ELECTIONS WILL NOT HOLD, AND I WAS READY TO DIE. IT WAS ILEGAL AND IRREGULAR. I WAS READY TO SUE THE HOLD PARTY, RIGHT TO THE HAGUE.
THE PRAXIS OF POLITICS IS NOT WHAT WE READ IN PAPERS. IT IS VERY COMPLEXAND COULD BE VERY DANGEROUS, BECAUSE MOST POLITICIANS DONOT COME TO POLITICS FOR YOU
, THEY CAME FOR THEMSELVES, DO THEY WORK FOR YOU.
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR CHANGE IN CAMEROON, THROUGH THE OPPOSITION, DONOT WAIST YOUR TIME. THE IS NO OPPOSITION IN CAMEROON, THERE ARE ONLY OPPOSITION PARTIES.
IN THE LAST NATIONAL STRIKE , MR JOHN FRU NDI WAS RENDERED HELPLESS. HOW,
1 HE WAS MADE TO DENOUNCE , HEADSHIP/INVOLVEMENT IN THE STRIKE. HE WAS MADE TO SOUND WEAK AND FEARFUL OF INPRISONMENT. PRISON AND THE GRAVE YARD DONOT MAKE GREAT LEADERSHIP, BUT COULD BE USED AS INSTRUMENTS, REF, GHANDI, OBAFEMI AWOLOWO, NKWAME NKRUMAH, NELSON MAMDELA. CERTAIN GROUPS EVEN TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTIONS THEY ARE NOT INVOLVED IN, FOR POLITICAL GAINS.
2 FOR HIS PROPERTY TO BE BURNT, DURING A STRIKE , SAID TO BE CAUSED BY NATIONAL GRIVIANCES OF THE COMMON MAN, MEARNT THE PEOPLE HAVE TURNED AWAY FROM HIM.
SHOULD HE RESIGN THE POSITION OF CHAIRMANSHIP? DEPENDS ON A NUMBER OF FACTORS,
A WHAT FUTURE DOES HE SEE FOR THE SDF.
B ARE THOSE WHO BENEFIT FROM HIS LEADERSHIP READY TO LET HIM STEP ASIDE, NOT FOR ONE OF THEM , BUT SOMEBODY FROM ANOTHER PROVEINCE PREFARABLY FRANCOPHONE, SO THAT IT IS NOT LOOKED UPON AS A NORTHWEST/ANGLOPHONE PARTY. DEREGIONALISATION IN THE PHASE OF REGIONALISM.
C DOES HE LOOK AT THE PARTY AS HIS OWN OR A NONPROFIT. NEC IS NOW AN EMBODIMENT OF HIM. CAN HE MAKE THEM REALIZE THAT THERE IS A GLOBAL WIND OF CHANGE, THAT EVEN SARKOZY IS SUBSCRIBING TO. FRANCOPHONES ALSO WANT CHANGE, BUT ARE SUSPICIOUS , OF BOTH FRANCOPHONES AND ANGLOPHONE OPPOSITION LEADERS, AS THEY ARE CONSTITUTED.
THE APPOINTMENT OF MUNA,S SISTER AS MINISTER, DESTROYED HIS CHANCES.
LET US NOT ALWAYS GENERALIZE, FRANCOPHONES HELPED US ELECT DR MUNA AS PRESIDENT OF THE MEDICAL COUNCIL, THAY HAVE ALSO ELECTED ETA BISSONG PRESIDENT OF THE BAR.
PEOPLE KEEP TALKING ABOUT THE OPPOSITION AND CAMEROONIANS, FORGETTING ABOUT US WHO ARE HIDING ABROAD, WHILE CAMEROONIANS LOST THEIR LIVES IN THE LAST CIVIL DISOBEDIENT, THAT IS UNFAIR.
THE CAMEROONIAN FORCES OF LAW AND ORDER ARE THE MAJOR PROBLEM. THEY HAVE BEEN POLITICISED, AND WELL TAKEN CARE OF, SO THEY TOO WILL DO ANYTHING TO KEEP WHO EVER TAKES CARE OF THEM IN PLACE[ RESTO]OR FOOD POLITICS.
CAMERRONIANS WILL NOT GO TO THE STREETS AGAIN, AFTER THE IMMEDIATE PAST MASSACRE AND INPRISONMENT.
LISTEN, I KNOW WHAT I AM WRITTING, WHO ARE THOSE WHO CAN FAST AND PRAY, LETS PUT THEM TO WORK, THEN THOSE WHO CAN DO OTHERTHINGS SHOULD DO THEM, I DONOT SUBSRIBE TO MORE BLOOD SHED, CHANGE IS ON THE WAY.
THE HEAVENS ARE TAKING CARE OF THE LAND OF PROMISE AND GLORY.
DR THOMPSON AKWO NTUBA MD, Ph.D

AFP challenging the appointment of ELECAM members in court??? very interesting.Lets ponder these observations; is it not this same court that denied the Cameroon people victory in 1990; claiming that their "hands were tied"...? We all know the old adage: "he who pays the piper calls the tune", so lets not fool ourselves cos the outcome of the puported court case is well known. This does not however mean that Cameroonians should sit back and let the CPDM get away with it this time around, but again what can we do, if we go out in the streets, they will send gun tooting forces of chaos and brutality to do what they know best... spill innocent blood. If we boycott elections the Prince will be crowned king by acclamation, even if we go out and vote agains him, it will obviously be meta-morphosised into a sweeping victory. What can we do...? This is the Dilemma for Cameroon. God Help us

foh nefoh

This the Press Release from SDF General Seretariat denouncing the "CPDMization" of ELECAM.

REPUBLIC OF CAMEROON
SOCIAL DEMOCRATIC FRONT (SDF)
NATIONAL EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

ELECAM'S BOARD OF GOVERNORS
ANOTHER SMOKE SCREEN TO CAMEROONIANS

Press Release
On the 30th December 2008,President Paul Biya signed Decrees No 2008/463 and 2008/464 appointing members of the Board of Governors of Elections Cameroon (ELECAM).This goes down in record as one of the moves to deny Cameroonians their due right to have any say in the choice of their representatives and leadership.

President Biya has always been adamant in his refusal any free and transparent electoral process in Cameroon.Since the early 90s when Cameroonians clamoured for democratization of the country's political institution, asking for the creation of an Independent Electoral Commission,Mr. Biya adamant position was that the demand was out the question.("Sans Objet"). The insistence by Cameroonians for such a body forced him to create a smoke screen which he called,"The National ELections Observatory" (NEO).as the name implies, this body had the responsability of only observing the conduct of elections organized by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and making its report to the President of the Republic.NEO consequently had no powers to make any judgement on the conduct of elections in Cameroon.Little doubt therefore that elections organized during the life of NEO went down in record as the most rigged in the history of elections in the country while NEO helplessly sat bye and could do anything about it.

The failure of NEO to ensure free, fair and transparent elections in Cameroon led the population to cry out loud that there was absolute need to create an independent elections commission in this country. In a bid to hoodwink Cameroonians and camouflage the International Community,Mr. Biya introduced ELECAM to Cameroonians as the body which would organize and manage the entire electoral process from the registration of the voters till the proclamation of results. This supposedly autonomous body had everything in its terms of reference to hinder any effective autonomy or independence in its structure.

Even then, this seemed too dangerous for Biya to remain in power for life.So he has decided to make ELECAM another smoke screen when he decided to appoint his cronies, all present members of either the Poliburo or Central Committee of the CPDM to its Board of Governors.Mr. Biya has simply transferred the organization of elections in this country from MINTAD to the Central Committee/Political Bureau of the CPDM.IT is evident from this appointment that future elections in this country will be worse than any we ever been organized in this country.
