Some 28 retired workers of the Cameroon Radio and Television, CRTV, quit their professional stage, January 30, in a solemn ceremony at the outfit's Mballa II headquarters in Yaounde.
The General Manager of CRTV, Amadou Vamoulke, honoured the retirees for having put in decades of meritorious services in the corporation. During the ceremony to honour the retired workers, CRTV workers presented New Year wishes to their General Manager and his deputy, Prof. Francis Wete.
Speaking at the occasion, the CRTV boss enjoined the workers to see retirement as the crowning of a well accomplished career. He said the ceremony, which was first of its kind, was aimed at paying homage to people who were devoted in their career in CRTV.
To him, they have contributed to building the CRTV edifice.
Earlier, the spokesperson of the retirees, Patience Essoka, said "there is time to work and time to retire". She said after rendering meritorious services to the nation, they were leaving with their heads high. She urged the CRTV management to pay their retirement dues promptly.
In response, the CRTV boss instructed the financial department of the house to make sure that their dues are quickly paid. He equally ordered the Director of Human Resources to facilitate the payment process. He said CRTV will continue to borrow the actors of its history.

They said they felt happy going on retirement because they hope that they will not go through the nightmare of "chasing files" for their dues to be paid.
