Former SDF Mayor for Mbengwi Council, Jonas Fonanih, was Saturday, February 21, in Mbengwi elected the Momo Coordinator of the Alliance for Progressive Forces, APF, led by Barrister Bernard Muna.
Voted to assist him was Chief Paul Agwejang, while Mrs. Alice Akumcha was voted Treasurer. Speaking before the exercise, Stephen Onjambeng, APF Executive Secretary, and resource person said the election was in fulfilment of his party's recent National council resolutions.
He recalled that the APF was launched two months before the July 2007 elections and due to the urgent need for the party to partake in the twin elections, there wasn't enough time to organise its basic organs. People, therefore, were appointed to carry out certain functions.
The twin elections having passed, he said, the National Council decided that in keeping with the APF democratic principle of putting people first, militants should freely choose their leaders. He told The Post that the people had chosen to go by the list system and to avoid rancour, constituted a consensus list.
He said the new APF Coordinator having been elected, was automatically empowered to organise sub-divisional and village committees.Walter Mudoh, APF list leader for Batibo in the 2007 twin elections, told The Post that another APF meeting organised by him would be holding in Batibo on Thursday, February 26.
Speaking to The Post, the new APF Coordinator promised to use the experience acquired while in the SDF to win militants for the APF and work towards victory for his new party.
Justifying why he quit the SDF, Fonanih said there was really nothing wrong with his old party. The problem with the SDF, he said, was too much witch-hunting by some individuals whom he didn't name.
According to Fonanih, who recently resigned from the SDF and also from the Mbengwi Council, there was also a lot of intolerance. He said he couldn't understand why he who had been mayor up to 2007 was not permitted as a councillor to head even a committee
He promised that while in the APF, he would do his best to wipe out such vindictive tendencies among his militants.
It is worth noting that the resigning from the SDF after losing a lucrative post has become a routine. Isa Bouiba, former Mayor of Babessi, crossed the carpet to the CPDM when he failed to win an election to the same post in the 2002 polls.
He blamed his sour turn of fortune on Hon. Emmanuel Yoyo, former Ngoketunjia MP.
Hons. Emmanuel Ngam Chia, Barnabas Asah, former MPs for Boyo and Menchum, respectively are today in the APF after they were voted out by their former party militants.
Another defector is Philip Che from Menchum, who decamped to the CPDM after the SDF Investiture Committee, chose Rex Che Ngong who lost at the primaries as the Party's flag bearer for Menchgum.Aaron Neba from Bafut is another of such defectors.
What will they do if they are not given lucrative positions at the APF? I guess move to the CPDM! And if no "lucratvie" position with the CPDM??? Frustration and high blood, I guess. These are examples of those who fight not for the people but for their stomach. You guys will continue to cross the carpet and finally cross a bridge in a river. Shame!!!!
I respect those who lost their positions in the SDF but still stayed strong with the party.
SDF!!! GO GO Go.

Because they lost the primaries or because of witch hunting in quest for postions they cross the carpet. What are you telling Cameroonians. Ask yourselves what you did wrong to your people. If you were thrown out of elections then you did not work for the people but for yourselves. You are still going to do same in other parties. Batibo or momo is just a fraction of cameroon so APF fight should not be centered in momo or batibo. APF HQ is in Yaounde with muna the traitor but the fight is in momo. By the way this is no news to be published by the post. Look for vvital informations and inform the people; who tells you the problems of cameroon is carpet crossing.

Forums are for intellectual contributions with the simple reason to build with positive ideas and also correct the wrongs.
Let excitment not overcome objective reasoning. What reason has any reasonable person to call Muan a traitor? A traitor is a person who has commited trason. Is not supporting the ideologies of the drawning SDF equivilence to treason? Mr. Delors, can this forum know why Muna is a traitor? Don't misunderstand me. I will certainly learn from you if you have the facts. Don't consider my respond as an attack.
Does this gentleman know that Mr. Fru Ndi is SDF chairman for more than 17years? Do you know how many parliamenterians the SDF has today? Can you guess how many sits the SDF will win during the next election?
Concentrate with the SDF and see about its reorganisation and might be get a new chairman than insaulting Muna. It will not help you, it will not help the SDF, and it will not stop people joining the APF. You need to know how many people i contact daily to join the APF. I don't insault SDF or CPDM leadership or members. Try to go this way.
Participating in Party politics is not a war. Use ideas to take people to your side than the old way that has failed the oposition since 1990. Baseless attaacks and provokations don't pay and many Cameroonians
this already.
The APF is gradually gaining grounds and will make it. I know we can use unknown names to insault Muna and other positive thinkers and there is no place in this world that we will be able to stand in public and back our publications.
The former mayor of Mbengwi is not even among the first thousands that have crossed from the CPDM and SDF to APF. Join us and allow sinking ships sink alone.

Who are the positive thinkers, Muna et al? Ben Muna is a cunning fox. He is looking for position in the Biya's government but he won't get it. He showed who he is and was sacked by the UN. He then came to take over the SDF from Fru Ndi through dubious means.
The SDF is growing from stronger after the bad eggs like Muna and co have gone.

people who failed in achieving their various selfish aims in other parties are now crossing the carpet to the a p f party.the a p f should therefore be careful admitting this new failed political figures .i think they should be investigated thoroughly before given top positions as they may also turn to ruin the party after a while.most of them i am very sure don't know the ideologies of the a p f.their main aim i know is to eat at all corners.and also politics has gotten a new phase phase and it should be a national and not a divisional agenda.the party should therefore work on a national base.
