Police in the United Kingdom (UK) say they are investigating an incident involving Cameroon’s Benoit Assou-Ekotto and a supporter of his professional club ,Tottenham Hotspur.
Assou-Ekotto confronted the supporter next to the tunnel at White Hart Lane moments after the final whistle of his team’s defeat to Wolverhampton, the Guradian newspaper reported on Sunday. He had to be pulled away by the Spurs assistant manager Joe Jordan, who led him down the tunnel.
It is not clear what the supporter may have said to the 25-year-old who is expected to be first choice left-back for the Indomitable Lions at the African Cup of Nations in Angola come January and at the World Cup in South Africa next June.
